Summary

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP represents the cutting edge of Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology, perfectly suited for the evolving GCC automotive landscape. With its massive 476 hp output and sophisticated All Wheel Drive system, it offers a level of performance that challenges traditional luxury SUVs while maintaining the efficiency of an electric drivetrain. The VIP trim is the most sought-after configuration for this model, offering a six-seat layout that caters to families who prioritize individual comfort over maximum occupancy. Given its 2026 model year status, this vehicle is essentially brand new to the market, ensuring the buyer receives the very latest in battery management and cabin tech. For the GCC buyer, this represents a unique opportunity to own a high-performance, ultra-modern SUV that eliminates range anxiety through its onboard gasoline generator. It stands out in a market saturated with traditional petrol engines by offering a quieter, more tech-forward alternative without the charging infrastructure limitations of a pure EV.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

As a 2026 model, this vehicle sits at the forefront of the ROX 01 production cycle, benefiting from the most recent software updates and assembly refinements. Compared to earlier units, this listing typically features the most optimized battery chemistry, ensuring better thermal management during the intense heat of a GCC summer. The mileage on this specific vehicle is negligible, effectively placing it in a category of its own compared to higher-mileage daily drivers that have already faced a year of commuting between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Choosing a 2026 model year ensures that you are at the beginning of the vehicle's lifecycle, which is a major advantage for long-term reliability and future resale value. The Grey exterior is a neutral, sophisticated choice that holds up exceptionally well against the fine desert dust common in this region, maintaining a clean appearance longer than darker shades. In the GCC market, this specific model year represents the pinnacle of the brand's current engineering capabilities.

VIP vs Lower Trims

The VIP trim is a significant step up from the standard configurations, most notably replacing the second-row bench with high-end captain chairs. These seats often include ventilation, heating, and massage functions, which are essential for maintaining comfort when temperatures exceed 45 degrees Celsius. In addition to the seating, the VIP trim usually incorporates a more premium materials palette throughout the cabin, featuring higher-grade upholstery and additional sound-deadening materials. For GCC buyers, the inclusion of a more robust climate control system with independent zones for the rear passengers makes the VIP trim a far more practical choice for family duties. The technology suite is also bolstered, often including the full array of interior screens and the highest-tier audio system available for the model. Choosing the VIP trim ensures that the vehicle retains a higher percentage of its value, as second-hand buyers in the region actively seek out the highest specification possible.

01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 competes in a crowded segment against established names like the Li Auto L8 and the Voyah Free, yet it distinguishes itself through its rugged aesthetic and superior horsepower. With 476 hp, it offers more immediate torque and overtaking power than many traditional 2.0L turbocharged rivals, making highway merging on fast-moving roads like the E11 much safer. The REEV powertrain gives it a distinct advantage over pure EVs like the Tesla Model X by providing a total range that can exceed 1,000 km, which is vital for cross-border trips to Oman or Saudi Arabia. Its 1.5L range extender is specifically designed to run efficiently at steady speeds, acting as a mobile power station that keeps the battery topped up. Furthermore, the 01 offers a more traditional SUV stance with better ground clearance than many aerodynamic-focused electric crossovers, giving it a more commanding presence on the road. The interior space utilization is also superior to many European luxury SUVs in this size bracket, providing genuine room for six adults.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs for the ROX 01 are exceptionally low compared to traditional V6 or V8 SUVs, primarily because daily city commuting can be handled almost entirely on electric power. Even when the 1.5L engine engages, the fuel consumption remains highly competitive, typically hovering around 7 to 8 liters per 100km in real-world mixed GCC driving. Service intervals are less frequent than internal combustion vehicles because the electric motors and battery require minimal maintenance, though the range extender will need standard oil changes every 10,000 to 15,000 km. While this is a Chinese spec vehicle, parts availability is growing rapidly in the UAE and wider GCC as the brand expands its footprint. Depreciation for high-end Chinese REEVs has stabilized recently, with these vehicles often holding their value better than expected due to high demand for fuel-efficient family haulers. Buyers should expect a depreciation rate comparable to premium American SUVs, with the VIP trim acting as a safeguard for better value retention over three to five years.

Performance & Capability

The performance of this SUV is headlined by its 476 hp output, which allows for effortless acceleration despite its substantial size. The All Wheel Drive system is expertly calibrated to handle varying surfaces, providing excellent traction on rain-slicked tarmac or the loose gravel found on the outskirts of the city. While it is not a dedicated dune basher, its electric torque delivery makes it surprisingly capable for light off-road excursions and weekend camping trips in the desert. The 0-100 km/h sprint is handled with a level of smoothness that traditional gearboxes cannot match, providing a linear power delivery that is perfect for executive commuting. Ground clearance is generous for a crossover, allowing it to navigate speed bumps and uneven terrain with ease. For long-distance driving, the combination of an electric motor's silence and the range extender's backup provides a stress-free experience that few other powertrain types can offer.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside the ROX 01 VIP, the focus is entirely on passenger serenity and climate control efficiency. The six-seat layout ensures that every passenger has ample shoulder room, a critical factor for long family road trips across the Emirates. The air conditioning system is designed to combat extreme heat, featuring powerful blowers and multiple vents that reach even the third row effectively. Large glass surfaces are typically treated with high-quality thermal insulation to keep the cabin cool, while the ventilated captain chairs in the first two rows provide immediate relief during the summer months. The infotainment system serves as the central hub for the vehicle, offering high-definition displays and seamless integration for modern smartphones. Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels are kept to a minimum, ensuring the cabin remains a quiet sanctuary even at highway speeds. Storage is abundant, with clever compartments distributed throughout the cabin to accommodate the needs of a full family.

Safety

Safety is a primary pillar of the ROX 01 design, featuring a robust ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite that is standard on the VIP trim. This includes high-resolution cameras and sensors that provide 360-degree visibility, which is invaluable when maneuvering such a large SUV in tight urban parking spaces. Features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist are perfectly tuned for the long, straight highways of the UAE, reducing driver fatigue during inter-city travel. Automatic Emergency Braking and Blind Spot Monitoring act as a crucial second set of eyes, particularly useful in the fast-paced and often unpredictable traffic of major GCC metros. The vehicle's structure is reinforced with high-strength steel to provide a protective cage for all six occupants, and multiple airbags are strategically placed to cover all three rows. This comprehensive approach to safety ensures that the ROX 01 meets the high standards expected by modern family buyers in the region.

The bottom line

This ROX 01 VIP is the ideal choice for a tech-forward family in the GCC looking to embrace the electric revolution without sacrificing the freedom of long-distance travel. As a 2026 model in the highest possible trim, it offers a combination of luxury, performance, and efficiency that makes it one of the smartest buys in the current used market.
