Summary

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP is a compelling high-tech alternative to traditional luxury SUVs, offering zero-meter freshness in a market that values the latest Chinese automotive innovations. The black exterior is a premier resale choice in the GCC, perfectly complementing the VIP trim's upscale road presence. As a Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV), it solves the typical EV range anxiety for long-distance desert or interstate drives while maintaining silent urban cruising. For the GCC buyer, this model stands out by combining the rugged proportions of an off-roader with a cabin refined enough for executive commuting. Ownership is supported by a rapidly growing local service infrastructure, making it a forward-thinking yet practical buy for the region's evolving market.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

As a brand-new 2026 model, this vehicle represents the cutting edge of the ROX 01's production lifecycle with the latest software and battery management calibrations. While many pre-owned units in the market carry the wear of high-mileage highway commutes common in the UAE, this zero-age example offers a factory-fresh mechanical baseline. Its black finish is widely considered the most liquid color for resale in the GCC, ensuring it holds a value premium over more niche shades.

VIP vs Lower Trims

The VIP trim is the definitive luxury choice, replacing the standard 7-seat bench with executive second-row captain chairs that feature heating, ventilation, and an 8-point massage system. It adds a dedicated 15.6-inch rear entertainment screen and a flagship 15-speaker premium audio system, features that are essential for passenger comfort during long GCC summer drives. You also benefit from soft-close doors and a factory-integrated refrigerator, upgrades that significantly elevate the daily ownership experience over the base models.

01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 is frequently cross-shopped with the Li Auto L9 and the Land Rover Defender 110, leading the segment with its unique 700 mm wading depth and dedicated 'Sand Surfing' mode designed for regional terrain. Unlike pure EVs, its 70-liter fuel tank combined with a 56 kWh battery provides a massive 1,115 km range, outperforming most luxury rivals on long-distance trips between cities like Dubai and Riyadh. It offers the cabin tech of a flagship electric sedan with the physical durability of a body-framed SUV.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this hybrid powertrain is remarkably efficient for a 2.6-ton vehicle, averaging approximately 8L/100km on long highway stretches and even less in city traffic when utilizing the 235 km pure electric range. Service intervals are typically scheduled every 12,000 km, with a dedicated regional parts hub now operational in Jebel Ali ensuring next-day fulfillment across the UAE. While Chinese luxury brands are newer to the market, the ROX 01 has shown strong initial value retention due to high demand and its specialized off-road hybrid niche.

Performance & Capability

The dual-motor system delivers a combined 469 hp and 740 Nm of torque, propelling this large SUV from 0–100 km/h in a sports-car-like 5.5 seconds. Its intelligent AWD system features seven driving modes, including specific settings for rock and sand, allowing it to navigate wadi crossings and desert dunes with confidence. The 1.5L turbocharged engine acts solely as a generator, ensuring the electric motors always have the high-torque delivery required for overtaking on fast-moving GCC highways.

Comfort & Cabin

The 6-seat VIP layout provides an 'Aviation' experience in the second row, with seats that recline into a zero-gravity position for maximum relaxation. To counter the extreme GCC summer heat, the cabin features a powerful tri-zone climate control system and ventilated seating in both the front and middle rows. Acoustic glass and high-grade insulation keep the interior remarkably quiet, while the 15.7-inch central touchscreen handles all navigation and infotainment with seamless speed.

Safety

The ROX 01 VIP comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite as standard, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and an advanced 540° camera system that provides a transparent-chassis view—invaluable for navigating tight urban parking and rocky off-road trails. Passive safety is reinforced by 10 airbags and a high-strength steel body structure designed for maximum roof load capacity. These systems are particularly effective on the UAE's high-speed multi-lane roads, providing proactive blind-spot monitoring and emergency braking interventions.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the tech-forward experience of an EV without sacrificing the ability to take long desert road trips, this 2026 ROX 01 VIP is the highest-spec opportunity available in the current market.
