Summary

The 2026 ROX 01 VIP represents a massive shift in the luxury SUV landscape, combining a 476 hp Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) powertrain with a high-end 6-seat configuration. Since this is a 2026 model, buyers are securing a vehicle with virtually no wear, effectively leapfrogging the current market in terms of technology and efficiency. The black exterior is the most sought-after color in the GCC for premium SUVs, ensuring your investment retains value far better than niche paint options. This VIP trim distinguishes itself with a cabin that rivals high-end executive lounges, making it an ideal choice for the tech-savvy family or professional. Compared to traditional gas-guzzling full-size SUVs, this REEV setup offers a silent, electric-first driving experience without the range anxiety of a pure EV, which is a game-changer for long-distance GCC travel. The single most important consideration for a GCC buyer is the massive reduction in monthly fuel expenses while enjoying 476 hp on tap for highway overtaking.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

As a 2026 model year, this ROX 01 sits at the very beginning of its lifecycle in the GCC, meaning it often carries lower mileage than any other vehicle in the used market. While many SUVs of this size accrue 25,000 km per year on UAE highways, this specific unit is essentially in showroom condition, giving the next owner the full benefit of its mechanical longevity. The choice of a black exterior is a strategic advantage in the local market; black consistently leads the resale rankings in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, making it easier to trade or sell later. This vehicle has been maintained to an impeccable standard, ensuring that every software feature and sensor in the advanced ADAS suite is calibrated perfectly. Opting for a 2026 model allows you to enjoy the latest iterative improvements in battery management and thermal cooling, which are crucial for the intense heat of the Middle Eastern summer.

VIP vs Lower Trims

The VIP trim is a significant step up from the standard 7-seat configuration, replacing the middle bench with two ultra-luxurious captain chairs. These seats are specifically designed for long-distance comfort, offering independent adjustment and superior ventilation that is essential during the 45°C summer months. While lower trims focus on basic utility, the VIP grade adds premium cabin materials and an enhanced sound insulation package that keeps the interior whisper-quiet even at high highway speeds. You also get the full suite of the most advanced ADAS features as standard, whereas lower-spec versions might miss out on specific autonomous driving sensors. The VIP trim also features upgraded interior lighting and higher-quality upholstery that feels more aligned with European luxury brands than standard mass-market SUVs. Choosing this trim ensures that you aren't just buying a mode of transport, but a high-spec executive environment that commands a higher premium in the secondary market.

01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 competes in a crowded segment against established names like the Li Auto L8 and the BMW X5, yet it carves out a niche with its unique REEV powertrain. Unlike the BMW X5, which relies on a traditional internal combustion engine, the 01 uses its 1.5L engine solely as a generator, providing a much smoother and more linear torque delivery. Compared to its peers, the 01 offers a more robust all-wheel-drive system that is better suited for the occasional sandy track or gravel road leading to a desert campsite. The seating configuration in the VIP trim provides more shoulder and hip room for middle-row passengers than the cramped quarters of many European 7-seaters. Additionally, the ROX 01 features a massive combined range that allows for a round trip between Dubai and Muscat without the constant need for a fuel stop. This makes it a more versatile tool for the regional lifestyle where long-distance travel is a weekly occurrence for many families.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating a Range Extended Electric Vehicle in the GCC offers a massive cost advantage over traditional V6 or V8 SUVs. In stop-start traffic in Riyadh or Dubai, you can run almost entirely on battery power, which costs a fraction of Super 98 fuel. On long highway stretches, the 1.5L 4-cylinder generator operates at peak efficiency, resulting in fuel consumption figures that are significantly lower than its peers. Historically, high-tech SUVs from new-energy brands have shown a stabilized depreciation curve in the UAE as the infrastructure for charging continues to expand. While this is a Chinese regional spec, the parts and components for the REEV system are becoming more widely available at specialized service centers across the UAE and Oman. You can expect a lower annual maintenance cost because the electric motors require less frequent servicing than a complex high-displacement petrol engine. At the 3-year mark, the VIP trim's desirability and the ever-improving reputation of ROX technology are expected to support strong resale values.

Performance & Capability

With 476 hp at your disposal, the ROX 01 delivers performance that belies its size, reaching highway speeds with the urgency of a sports sedan. The dual-motor All Wheel Drive system provides incredible grip on the tarmac and helps stabilize the vehicle during heavy crosswinds on the exposed highways of the Western Region. Because the torque from the electric motors is instantaneous, overtaking long trucks on two-lane roads is effortless and safe. The 01 is designed to handle the extreme heat of the GCC, featuring a liquid-cooled battery pack that maintains performance even during midday summer drives. While it is a sophisticated crossover, the high ground clearance allows for confident driving on varied terrain, from suburban speed bumps to unpaved paths in the Northern Emirates. The regenerative braking system not only improves efficiency but also reduces wear on the brake pads during descent from mountainous areas like Jebel Hafeet. This SUV is a true all-rounder, offering the power for the city and the endurance for the open road.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the ROX 01 VIP is a masterclass in modern ergonomics, centered around a 6-seat layout that prioritizes individual space. The captain chairs in the second row are the highlight, offering a level of comfort usually reserved for first-class air travel, complete with cooling functions that are a godsend after a car has been parked in the sun. The air conditioning system is exceptionally powerful, with dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure every passenger stays comfortable during a Dubai July. Sound dampening is a high priority here; the cabin remains isolated from road and wind noise, allowing you to enjoy the premium audio system to its fullest. Large windows and a panoramic sunroof create an airy, open feel that makes long trips across the desert feel much shorter. Storage is also plentiful, with clever compartments for electronics and personal items throughout all rows. The materials used on the dashboard and touchpoints have been selected for durability in high-UV environments, ensuring they won't fade or crack over time.

Safety

Safety in the ROX 01 VIP is powered by a sophisticated sensor array that monitors the road in every direction, providing a protective bubble around the family. The advanced ADAS suite includes lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control, which significantly reduces driver fatigue on the long, straight highways between major GCC cities. Blind-spot monitoring is particularly active, providing clear warnings on digital mirrors which are essential for navigating the fast-moving, multi-lane traffic of Sheikh Zayed Road. The vehicle is built on a high-strength chassis designed to absorb impacts and protect the battery pack in the event of a collision. Multiple airbags, including curtain airbags that cover all three rows, ensure that every passenger is shielded regardless of where they are seated. Furthermore, the electronic stability control is tuned to handle the unique friction levels of sandy or dusty roads, preventing skids before they happen. This trim includes safety tech as standard that many rivals only offer in expensive optional packages.

The bottom line

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP is the perfect opportunity for an early adopter who wants the luxury of a 6-seat captain chair layout with the extreme efficiency of an REEV powertrain. In the black-on-black color scheme, this is the sharpest-looking SUV in the neighborhood and a smart buy for anyone looking to slash their fuel bill without sacrificing road presence.
