Summary

This 2026 ROX 01 Captain ETE is a compelling choice for GCC buyers looking for the latest in Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) technology, offering massive range without charging anxiety. With only 200 km, this unit is essentially a brand-new vehicle, and its Black Knight exterior finish remains a top-tier choice for resale value in the UAE and Saudi markets. As the flagship Captain ETE trim, it offers a level of interior luxury that rivals established European brands while significantly undercutting them on price. This model is rapidly becoming a favorite in the region for its ability to handle long-distance highway hauls between emirates with ease and refinement. For those transitioning to electric power, the 1.5L range-extender provides the perfect safety net for long desert drives.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

With a delivery mileage of just 200 km, this vehicle is effectively in showroom condition, offering a significant advantage over typical GCC used market listings which often accumulate mileage quickly due to high-speed commuting. The Black exterior is highly sought after in the region, ensuring better liquidity and value retention compared to less conventional colors. Choosing this virtually new unit allows you to skip the initial depreciation hit while maintaining the full benefits of a current model year.

CAPTAIN ETE vs Lower Trims

The Captain ETE is the definitive luxury specification, upgrading the second row to executive aviation-style chairs featuring 12-way electric adjustment and zero-gravity reclining modes. While lower trims focus on basic utility, the Captain ETE adds essential GCC comforts like multi-stage ventilation for both the first and second-row passengers and an 8-point massage system. You also benefit from the upgraded 15.6-inch rear entertainment screen and the 256-color ambient lighting suite as standard.

01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 competes directly with the Li Auto L8 and the Land Rover Defender 130, leading the segment with a massive 70-liter fuel tank that enables a total cruising range exceeding 1,100 km. Its 5.5-second acceleration time allows it to outpace many traditional luxury V8 SUVs on the highway while offering significantly better city efficiency. The 3,010 mm wheelbase provides superior interior volume and third-row legroom compared to most mid-size luxury crossovers in the market.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is exceptional for a vehicle of this size, achieving roughly 17-20 km/L in hybrid mode, which significantly reduces the cost of daily commuting in UAE and Saudi traffic. Maintenance is simplified as the 1.5L generator has standard service intervals, and authorized service centers like EVS are already well-established in Dubai, Riyadh, and Doha to support imported units. While new to the market, the ROX 01 is showing strong value retention in the UAE, currently ranking as a top-three luxury SUV in its segment by sales volume.

Performance & Capability

The dual-motor AWD system delivers a combined 500 hp and 740 Nm of torque, providing effortless overtaking power even when fully loaded with seven passengers. A dedicated 'ROX Mode' includes specific software calibrations for sand and wading, paired with 205 mm of ground clearance to handle weekend excursions to the dunes or gravel tracks. The 700 mm wading depth and 22.2-degree approach angle ensure it is more than just a city cruiser, offering genuine utility for regional exploration.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the extreme GCC summer, featuring a high-capacity tri-zone climate control system and UV-blocking electric sunshades. The seven-seat layout is versatile, with flat-folding second and third rows that can accommodate a 2-meter mattress for camping. Premium acoustic glass and the lack of a traditional mechanical transmission make for a whisper-quiet highway experience, even at triple-digit speeds.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with a high-grade steel body structure and a full ADAS suite including adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and a 360-degree panoramic camera with transparent chassis mode. The vehicle includes multiple airbags and advanced stability control systems that are particularly effective on loose sand or rain-slicked tarmac. These active systems provide peace of mind during long-distance drives across the GCC's high-speed highway networks.

The bottom line

For the executive buyer or family looking for the ultimate mix of electric efficiency and off-road presence, this near-zero-mile Captain ETE offers the best value-to-luxury ratio currently available in the GCC market.
