Summary

The 2026 Toyota Hiace GL represents the gold standard for commercial and passenger logistics in the GCC, offering a 9+ seat configuration ideal for staff transport, tourism, or large families. Powered by a reliable 2.7L petrol engine paired with a manual gearbox, this white GL trim benefits from high resale demand in the local market, where white is the preferred color for heat reflection and value retention. The H300 generation's semi-bonnet design significantly improves crash safety and cabin quietness compared to older cab-over models, making it a safer long-term investment. For a GCC buyer, the unparalleled availability of parts and service centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures minimal downtime and predictable running costs.

This Car vs Other 2026 Toyota Hiaces

With near-zero mileage, this 2026 model provides a fresh factory start, offering a significant advantage over high-mileage commercial units often found in the market. Its white exterior is the most sought-after color in the GCC, ensuring maximum sunlight reflection during summer and the strongest possible resale value when it comes time to upgrade.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim upgrades the experience with essential features GCC buyers look for, including higher-quality fabric upholstery and improved interior finishes over the base Standard models. It typically adds power windows and a more advanced audio system, providing a more professional environment for driver and passengers during long cross-emirate trips.

Hiace vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Nissan Urvan and Ford Transit offer similar footprints, the Hiace leads on resale value and the sheer density of the Toyota service network in the region. The 2.7L petrol engine is specifically favored in urban GCC environments for its lower maintenance complexity compared to high-strung diesel competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.7L petrol manual typically ranges between 11L and 13L/100km, depending on the passenger load and GCC highway speeds. Maintenance is highly affordable, with 10,000 km service intervals supported by a massive network of authorized centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Historically, the Hiace retains roughly 85-90% of its value after the first year, outperforming nearly every other van in the segment.

Performance & Capability

The 2.7L 4-cylinder engine produces a reliable 160 hp and 243 Nm of torque, engineered for durability rather than outright speed. The rear-wheel-drive layout and manual transmission provide the driver with direct control, which is essential when navigating full passenger loads through city traffic or over highway inclines. A 75-litre fuel tank ensures a substantial range, reducing the frequency of stops during long-distance shuttle routes between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for high-frequency use, featuring hard-wearing materials and an air conditioning system specifically tuned to handle 45°C+ GCC summers. The 9+ seating configuration provides ample legroom and dedicated rear cooling vents to ensure all passengers stay comfortable even in the furthest rows. The H300's front-engine placement means less heat and noise soak into the cabin compared to previous generations, greatly enhancing long-distance comfort.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the GL includes Anti-lock Braking (ABS), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) to prevent rollback on inclines. Dual front airbags and a reinforced semi-bonnet structure provide peace of mind for passenger transport, meeting modern safety standards that many older commercial vans cannot match.

The bottom line

This 2026 Hiace GL is the definitive choice for a business or family needing a zero-mile, ultra-reliable people mover with the highest resale security in the Middle East.
