Summary

This 2026 Toyota Hiace GL represents the most powerful iteration of the region's trusted passenger bus, featuring a 3.5-litre V6 that significantly improves highway overtaking compared to traditional four-cylinder variants. Being a 0 km vehicle in classic White, it offers maximum resale stability and the highest heat reflection efficiency for the local market. The shift to the semi-bonnet chassis architecture in this generation provides superior front-end safety and cabin refinement for professional transport. For GCC buyers, the combination of a high-output petrol engine and a heavy-duty manual gearbox ensures mechanical longevity under heavy passenger loads. This is the definitive choice for businesses requiring a dependable, high-capacity shuttle with the strongest support network in the Middle East.

This Car vs Other 2026 Toyota Hiaces

As a brand-new 2026 model with 0 km, this Hiace sits at the peak of the used market value curve, offering the full lifespan of its mechanical components. While many commercial units in the GCC quickly accumulate 40,000 km or more annually, starting with a 0 km unit provides a clean slate for fleet maintenance. The White exterior remains the most sought-after color for commercial resale in the UAE and Saudi Arabia due to its ability to stay cool in 45°C+ summer heat.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim upgrades the basic passenger experience with more refined seat fabrics and improved cabin insulation, which are critical for long-distance comfort in the GCC. It adds significant aesthetic and functional value through chrome exterior accents and high-capacity dual air conditioning with dedicated ceiling vents for all rows. Unlike the base DX trim, the GL focuses on passenger-led features like power windows and a more advanced audio interface that helps maintain higher resale premiums.

Hiace vs Segment Rivals

The Hiace leads segment rivals like the Nissan Urvan and Hyundai H1 by offering the most extensive parts and service availability across the entire GCC region. Its 3.5-litre V6 engine provides a higher power-to-weight ratio for more confident highway cruising between emirates when fully loaded. Furthermore, the Toyota badge commands a historically higher value retention at the 3-year mark compared to any other commercial van in the segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this V6 powertrain typically averages between 12 to 14 L/100km, with highway cruising dropping closer to 10 L/100km. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km across a massive network of authorized centers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring minimal downtime for businesses. This model enjoys one of the lowest annual depreciation rates in the GCC market, often retaining over 80% of its value after the first year of operation.

Performance & Capability

The 277 hp V6 engine (7GR-FKS) delivers 351 Nm of torque, allowing for effortless acceleration even when carrying a full load of 13 passengers. The 6-speed manual transmission offers precise control and direct power delivery, which is preferred by fleet operators for its mechanical simplicity and durability in extreme heat. Its rear-wheel-drive layout and high-rigidity semi-bonnet chassis provide stable handling during long cross-country drives across the desert highways.

Comfort & Cabin

The 13-seat passenger configuration is supported by a dual-zone high-output air conditioning system, featuring individual ceiling-mounted nozzles for every occupant to combat the GCC summer. The high-roof design maximizes vertical headroom, making cabin walk-throughs easy for passengers during frequent stops at hotels or airports. Acoustic glass and improved insulation help keep the interior quiet and shielded from the harsh desert environment during midday travel.

Safety

This trim includes a comprehensive safety suite featuring Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRC), and the Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), all of which are vital for maintaining control on sand-dusted highway surfaces. Occupant protection is managed by dual front SRS airbags and 3-point seatbelts for all seating positions. Additionally, the semi-bonnet design places the engine ahead of the driver, providing a dedicated crumple zone that significantly enhances front-impact safety compared to older cab-over designs.

The bottom line

This 2026 Hiace GL is a strategic asset for any GCC transport business, combining Toyota's legendary reliability with a high-performance V6 that makes light work of the region's long highway routes.
