Toyota Hilux GR SPORT

Highlights

• 3,500 kg braked towing capacity
• 235 hp from a 4.0-litre V6 petrol engine
• GR-tuned monotube suspension standard

Summary

This GCC-spec Hilux GR Sport represents the most aggressive factory expression of Toyota's legendary workhorse, combining a high-demand white exterior with a sophisticated black leather and suede interior. In the local market, the proven 4.0-litre V6 is a significant advantage over newer turbocharged four-cylinders, offering the linear power delivery and long-term durability that GCC owners prioritize for both high-speed highway cruising and desert exploration. The GR Sport trim distinguishes itself from standard utility models with a wider track, specialized suspension, and premium cabin tech usually reserved for high-end SUVs. For a 2026 model, this truck offers the perfect balance of a brand-new mechanical lifecycle with the safety net of an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It is a dual-purpose vehicle that feels just as appropriate at a business site as it does on a family weekend road trip.

This Car vs Other 2026 Hiluxs

While many 2026 models in the region have high mileage due to heavy cross-border use, a new listing like this offers a fresh mechanical start. The white exterior is the strongest resale choice in the GCC, offering the best heat reflection during summer and ensuring a faster turnaround when it time comes to upgrade. Choosing a GCC-spec model over imported alternatives ensures the cooling system and air conditioning are optimized for 45 degree Celsius plus temperatures.

GR SPORT vs Lower Trims

The GR Sport adds significant equipment over the Adventure and GLX trims, most notably the Gazoo Racing-tuned monotube shock absorbers and a wider track for better high-speed stability. Inside, you receive a 360-degree panoramic view monitor and a premium interior featuring GR-branded sport seats in leather and suede. It also replaces standard pedals with aluminum sport versions and adds the unique G-mesh grille that identifies it as the flagship model.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

The Hilux leads segment rivals like the Nissan Navara and Mitsubishi L200 in terms of engine displacement, offering a 4.0L V6 where others have moved to smaller four-cylinder units. Its 80-litre fuel tank provides superior range for long desert highway stretches between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh compared to smaller-capacity competitors. Furthermore, the Hilux maintains a higher residual value in the GCC used market than any other mid-size pickup.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V6 typically averages 11.7 L/100km, reflecting its suitability for long-distance cruising. The Hilux is widely regarded as the gold standard for value retention in the Middle East, typically depreciating just 8-10% annually, which is significantly lower than European luxury pickups. Service is straightforward with authorized centers located in every major city from Dubai to Muscat, ensuring parts availability is never a concern.

Performance & Capability

With a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, this truck is fully equipped for hauling heavy trailers or desert recovery gear. The 4.0L V6 produces 235 hp and 376 Nm of torque, providing smooth overtaking power on fast-moving UAE highways and the low-end grunt needed for sand driving. Capability is enhanced by a selectable 4WD system with a rear differential lock and a 265 mm ground clearance that handles rugged terrain with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is specifically designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful automatic climate control system with dedicated rear vents to keep all passengers cool in extreme heat. The 8-inch touchscreen includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless navigation during long commutes. The GR Sport seats provide extra lateral support for off-road maneuvers while maintaining long-distance comfort for cross-border trips.

Safety

Safety is managed by the Toyota Safety Sense suite, including a 360-degree camera system that is invaluable for parking such a large vehicle in tight urban spaces. Standard features include Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and a comprehensive airbag system with a driver-side knee airbag. These active systems provide peace of mind during fast-paced highway driving in Riyadh or Dubai.

The bottom line

This Hilux GR Sport is the definitive choice for a buyer who wants a premium, performance-oriented pickup with the unmatched reliability of a Toyota V6. It represents a rare opportunity to own the segment leader in its most desirable color and specification.
