Summary

This 2026 Prado All Rounder G marks the most significant evolution for the nameplate in over a decade, introducing a high-torque turbocharged powertrain that balances city refinement with legendary desert capability. Finished in black, it remains one of the most resilient assets for resale in the GCC market, offering a professional aesthetic that suits both urban and off-road environments. As the all-new J250 generation, it provides a much-improved highway ride compared to its predecessors while retaining the heavy-duty body-on-frame construction that local buyers trust. With a seven-seat configuration and verified regional cooling specs, this unit is perfectly prepared for the extreme summer demands of the Gulf. It stands as a compelling choice for those seeking a modern, tech-forward SUV that won't lose its value at the three-year mark.

This Car vs Other 2026 Prados

With minimal mileage as a current-year model, this Prado offers a distinct advantage over the high-usage units typically found in the GCC market, where annual averages often exceed 25,000 km. The black exterior is a high-demand choice in the region, ensuring better liquidity and value retention compared to niche colors. Choosing a 2026 model ensures you are benefiting from the first full production year of the J250 generation's improved fuel efficiency and digital cabin.

ALL ROUNDER G vs Lower Trims

The All Rounder G trim bridges the gap between utility and luxury, adding essential GCC comfort features such as ventilated front seats and a specialized cool box for refreshments during long desert drives. It upgrades the interior experience with synthetic leather upholstery and a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, providing a more premium feel than the basic fabric-clad EXR models. Crucially for regional safety, it includes a more comprehensive airbag suite and digital cockpit features that are often omitted on entry-level fleet specifications.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado leads its primary rival, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport, by offering a significantly larger 110-litre fuel capacity, which is vital for long-distance cross-border travel between the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. While the Nissan Patrol Super Safari offers raw power, the Prado's modern 2.4L turbo engine provides better daily efficiency and a quieter cabin at highway speeds. Its full-time 4WD system and high ground clearance ensure it remains more capable in soft sand than road-biased crossovers like the Ford Explorer.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this turbocharged powertrain averages approximately 10.6 km/L, offering a meaningful improvement in stop-start city traffic compared to the older V6 units. Service intervals are typically set at 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the GCC, ensuring parts and expertise are available from Muscat to Riyadh. As a GCC-spec Toyota, it commands the highest value retention in its class, historically depreciating at just 8–10% annually compared to the 15% seen in European rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 2.4L turbocharged engine delivers a robust 430 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless overtaking on fast-moving highways like the E11 and reliable low-end grunt for dune climbing. With a maximum ground clearance of 221 mm and a standard low-range transfer case with a center locking differential, it is purpose-built for weekend excursions into the Liwa or Fossil Rock. The new 8-speed automatic transmission provides smoother shifts and better highway cruising than the previous 6-speed units, making long journeys between emirates significantly more comfortable.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the seven-seat layout is supported by a dual-zone automatic climate control system specifically engineered to maintain freezing temperatures even in 45°C heat. Ventilated front seats are a standard luxury here, providing essential relief during the peak summer months, while the integrated cool box in the center console keeps drinks chilled. The cabin is well-insulated from exterior noise, and the third row folds flat to accommodate large family shopping trips or camping gear for desert stays.

Safety

Safety is managed by an advanced suite that includes 7 airbags and Toyota's specialized Crawl Control and Downhill Assist for stable off-road navigation. Standard features like Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are particularly useful in fast-moving, multi-lane Gulf traffic, providing an extra layer of protection during highway lane changes. This trim also includes stability and traction control systems tuned specifically for the variable surfaces of the region, from paved roads to gravel and sand.

The bottom line

This 2026 Prado All Rounder G is the ideal match for a family or professional seeking the latest in Toyota reliability and technology with the best possible resale protection in the GCC. It represents a rare opportunity to own the brand-new generation in a high-demand color and regional specification.
