Chinese Car Brand Li Auto Launched In The UAE: New Li L9 Livis Introduced

Chinese new-energy vehicle manufacturer Li Auto has officially entered the UAE market with the launch of its flagship Li L9 SUV. The brand will operate in the country through Al Fahim Motors, part of Al Fahim Group, Li Auto’s authorised distributor in the UAE.

The launch introduces two versions of the six-seat flagship SUV: the Li L9 Ultra and the more advanced Li L9 Livis. Prices start at AED 319,900, while the L9 Livis starts at AED 359,900.

Li L9 UAE Prices

The L9 becomes Li Auto’s first model officially offered in the UAE and marks the brand’s formal entry into the Gulf region.

Extended-Range Electric Powertrain

Unlike a conventional hybrid, the Li L9 uses an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle, or EREV, powertrain. The SUV is driven primarily by its electric motors, while a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine acts as a range extender, generating electricity when needed.

The system combines dual electric motors with all-wheel drive and produces 420kW, or approximately 563hp, and 710Nm of torque. Li Auto claims a 0-100km/h time of 4.9 seconds.

A 72.7kWh battery provides up to 350km of pure-electric driving range under the WLTC cycle. With the petrol range extender, the total combined WLTC range increases to around 1,370km. The battery also supports high-speed charging through Li Auto’s 5C charging technology.

Large Six-Seater SUV

The Li L9 sits in the full-size premium SUV segment and uses a three-row, six-seat layout. It measures 5,255mm in length, 2,000mm in width and 1,810mm in height, while the wheelbase measures 3,125mm.

Its exterior design follows Li Auto’s minimalist styling approach, with a full-width light signature at the front, a clean body profile and another full-width lighting element at the rear. The SUV rides on 22-inch wheels. The L9 Livis is also available with exclusive two-tone exterior colour combinations and several trim-specific design details.

Interior & Technology

Inside, the Li L9 uses a 2+2+2 seating configuration, with individual captain-style seats in the second row. One of its main cabin features is a 29-inch 6K panoramic display positioned across the front passenger area. Rear passengers also get a 21-inch 4K entertainment screen.

The cabin is equipped with four zero-gravity seats, seven-zone climate control and a 10-litre refrigerator capable of both cooling and heating. The refrigerator can cool its contents to temperatures as low as -6°C. 

The audio system includes 29 cabin speakers and four headrest speakers, with a claimed total output of up to 5,440W. 

Li Auto has also adapted the vehicle’s software for the UAE, including an Arabic-language interface, local map data and support for regional charging systems. Arabic voice interaction is expected to be introduced through a software update later in 2026.

Li L9 Ultra Vs Li L9 Livis

While both variants use the same basic powertrain, the biggest differences are found in their chassis and computing systems.

The L9 Ultra features steer-by-wire technology, rear-wheel steering and Li Auto’s third-generation Magic Carpet air suspension system.

The L9 Livis goes further with an 800V active suspension system that can independently control the suspension at each wheel. It also receives a more extensive drive-by-wire chassis system.

Rear-wheel steering can turn the rear wheels by up to approximately seven degrees, helping reduce the large SUV’s turning radius to around 5.3 metres.

The Livis also uses two of Li Auto’s proprietary M100 assisted-driving chips instead of one, along with four LiDAR sensors and more powerful cabin computing hardware.

Driver Assistance & Safety

The L9 features an extensive suite of sensors and driver-assistance hardware.

Depending on the version, this includes LiDAR sensors, millimetre-wave radar, cameras and near-field sensing systems.

The SUV also comes with 11 airbags and a reinforced body structure made with ultra-high-strength materials.

The Livis receives the more advanced sensor package of the two variants, including four LiDAR units positioned around the vehicle.

Developed For UAE Conditions

Li Auto has made several changes to prepare the L9 for the UAE market rather than simply importing the domestic Chinese specification.

The vehicle has been calibrated for high temperatures, dusty and sandy environments, local roads, and regional charging standards.

Its thermal management and charging systems have also been adjusted for UAE conditions, an important consideration for battery-powered vehicles operating during the country’s hottest months.

Li Auto UAE Expansion

The launch of the L9 represents the first stage of Li Auto’s wider expansion into the UAE. Together with Al Fahim Motors, the company plans to establish official retail and aftersales facilities in the country, including dedicated sales and service locations.

Vehicles sold through the official UAE network will receive manufacturer-supported servicing, genuine parts, software updates and warranty coverage.

Founded in 2015, Li Auto has grown into one of China’s major new-energy vehicle manufacturers, with its early success largely built around extended-range electric SUVs.

Its UAE launch now brings that EREV approach directly into a market where large premium SUVs remain particularly popular.

With prices starting at AED 319,900 for the L9 Ultra and AED 359,900 for the L9 Livis, the L9 enters the UAE as a technology-heavy six-seat SUV combining long electric driving capability with the flexibility of a petrol range extender.
