New 2027 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ Launched In UAE: FJ Cruiser Returns?

The FJ name is back in the UAE, and Toyota has attached it to something even bigger this time. The new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ has officially been launched in the country, becoming the most accessible member of the legendary Land Cruiser family. The new FJ was first revealed in October 2025, then launched in select markets earlier this year, and has now arrived in the UAE.

Prices start at AED 139,900 for the EXR, while the higher-spec GXR costs AED 154,900. The new five-door, five-seat SUV slots beneath the Land Cruiser 70, Land Cruiser Prado, Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser Hybrid in Toyota UAE’s line-up.

For UAE off-road enthusiasts, however, this is more than another compact 4×4 joining the market. The FJ badge carries decades of Land Cruiser history and, more recently, the legacy of one of the GCC’s most popular recreational off-roaders.

Both variants use the same naturally aspirated petrol engine, six-speed automatic transmission and selectable four-wheel-drive system. The differences primarily concern exterior equipment, cabin materials and driver-assistance features.

Instead, the new Land Cruiser FJ arrives with a ladder-frame platform, selectable four-wheel drive, low-range gearing, a rear differential lock, and an engine valued more for longevity. That already gives it the right foundations.

The V6 will be missed, especially by drivers who enjoy attacking the UAE’s largest dunes with the right side pedal pinned to the floor. Yet, at AED 139,900, the Land Cruiser FJ brings genuine Toyota off-road hardware into a particularly competitive part of the market. This especially matters to someone looking for a brand-new SUV with hardcore Toyota off-road credentials. The FJ name has returned, and crucially, it has returned on a vehicle that appears ready to earn it.
