Abu Dhabi Motors Celebrates 40 Years Of Distinction In The UAE Auto Industry

Abu Dhabi Motors, the official dealership for BMW, Mini, Rolls-Royce, Alpina, McLaren, and BMW Motorrad in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, is proudly celebrating its 40th anniversary. Since its establishment in 1985, Abu Dhabi Motors has become synonymous with premium vehicles, customer-centric service, and transformation in every aspect of the business.

From Humble Beginnings To Global Excellence

Abu Dhabi Motors was founded in 1985 with a modest team of just 24 employees and a singular mission: to deliver the prestigious BMW brand to customers in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Over the past four decades, that mission has transformed into a multi-brand operation that now boasts over 750 employees across 12 world-class facilities, handling sales, service, spare parts, training, and customer support.

A part of the prestigious United Al Saqer Group, Abu Dhabi Motors is backed by one of the UAE’s most diversified and influential conglomerates. The United Al Saqer Group operates in a wide array of sectors, from real estate and tourism to construction, financial brokerage, and, significantly, the automotive and heavy machinery industries.

Automotive brands under the United Al Saqer umbrella include Dalma Motors, distributor for Tata Motors and Daewoo’s commercial vehicles, and Al Saqer Heavy Machinery, which represents a number of global equipment manufacturers such as Iveco, Kawasaki, Mitsubishi, and New Holland. Abu Dhabi Motors, however, remains the crown jewel in the group’s automotive portfolio.

In the early 2000s, Abu Dhabi Motors diversified its luxury offerings, acquiring the distributorship for Mini and Alpina in 2001, Rolls-Royce in 2003, BMW Motorrad in 2004, and BMW Premium Selection (certified pre-owned) in 2006. The company has continued to grow, most recently bringing McLaren under its fold in 2022, followed by the launch of Zero Motorcycles and Voyah cars through its new division, Performance Plus Motors.

The World’s Largest BMW Group Showroom

One of Abu Dhabi Motors’ most defining achievements is the world’s largest BMW Group retail facility, located in Umm Al Nar, Abu Dhabi. Opened in 2012, this state-of-the-art 35,000 sqm complex houses the BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce, and BMW Motorrad brands under one roof.

Abu Dhabi Motors also invests heavily in skill development and technical training, evidenced by a dedicated 700 sqm training center.

Abu Dhabi Motors: Award-Winning Service & Global Recognition

In the past 13 years alone, Abu Dhabi Motors has won an astonishing 28 global awards from the BMW Group, reinforcing its position as one of the world’s most successful and respected BMW importers.
