Alfa Romeo Electric Vehicles Details Revealed — Quadrifoglio-Badged Models Will Feature Up To 1,000Hp!

The first initial details of Alfa Romeo’s upcoming electric cars have now been revealed. Some of Alfa Romeo’s EVs will have a power output upwards of 1,000hp and they will also come with the coveted Quadrifoglio badge.

Alfa Romeo EVs

Italian exotic car manufacturer Alfa Romeo is currently one of the last few remaining car manufacturers without a pure electric vehicle in its product lineup. However, given the direction that the entire automotive industry is headed in, it is no surprise that Alfa Romeo too has ambitious EV plans.

While it is a known fact that Alfa Romeo is already working on the development of EVs, not much was known about its upcoming EVs. The first Alfa Romeo EV will be an entry-level sub-compact crossover positioned below the Tonale and this EV is expected to debut in 2024. However, the CEO of Alfa Romeo recently revealed some information that is sure to be of interest to enthusiasts.

Quadrifoglio Badging & Performance

Speaking to Australian car magazine CarSales, Jean-Philippe Imparato shared a few interesting details about the Alfa EVs that will be launched in the years to come. Firstly, the Quadrifoglio badge and performance will be retained. Secondly, he claimed that the electric vehicles developed by the brand would prioritise a thrilling driving experience.

Quadrifoglio is to Alfa Romeo what M is to BMW, Quattro is to Audi & AMG is to Mercedes-Benz. In essence, the high-performance Alfa Romeo cars come with a Quadrifoglio badge and performance to match it. Currently, only the twin-turbo V6-powered Alfa Romeo Stelvio & Giulia are available with the clover-leaf Quadrifoglio badge.

This particular engine is a Ferrari-derived motor and produces around 505hp, resulting in a scintillating performance. However, it will soon be replaced by electric motors producing between 900-1000hp.

0-100km/h acceleration times haven’t been revealed yet, but we imagine it would be under 2.5 seconds. However, according to the CEO of the brand, 0-100km/h times and lap times are not what they are chasing after. Instead, the EVs would be tuned to offer a thrilling driving experience.

Next-Gen Battery Technology & Wireless Charging

Jean-Philippe Imparato also shared that the new EVs will be powered by next-gen battery technology which will improve efficiency, and performance and will therefore also result in short charging periods. Alfa Romeo’s Quadrifoglio-badged EVs might also feature wireless charging technology which is sure to improve usability and practicality.

Not many details were revealed about the features that the car would offer. However, infotainment screens larger than 13 inches will definitely go into the cabin. We surely can expect Alfa Romeo’s EVs to come with a sporty and modern interior.
