Aston Martin DB11 V8 finally acknowledged

After months of speculation, Aston Martin has finally confirmed the existence have confirmed the existence of a DB11 V8 model instead of the traditional V12 version.

Although the DB11 V8 houses four fewer cylinders than the V12 model, the British luxury coupe needs just four seconds to hit 100 km/h. Current V12 models need 3.9 seconds to hit 100.

For those unaware what powers the V8 DB11, lift the bonnet, and you’ll find a 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 motor generating around 500 horsepower. With 695 Nm of torque on tap, the model launches to a top speed of 301 km/h.

Aside from the horsepower numbers, the new motor sounds on par with the current V12. Although it has four fewer cylinders than we are used to, 114 kilos have been shed from its overall weight totalling up to 1,860 kilogrammes.

Borrowing the twin-turbo motor from AMG, Aston Martin has added their own air intake system, exhaust, wet sump lubrication and to top it off, they’ve created a new ECU software and reprogrammed individual parts of the motor including the engine itself and throttle mapping.

Additionally, Aston Martin has added new engine mounts plus revisions to various other components including the springs, ESP software, anti-roll bar and other hidden parts.

Although, it may be hard to differentiate the DB11 V8 and standard DB11 without looking underneath the bonnet. Designers have added subtle changes to the V8’s exterior. This includes a set of exclusive alloys, two vents in the bonnet instead of four and dark headlight bezels.

Dubicars.com has new Aston Martin and used Aston Martin for sale in Dubai.
