Audi A6 e-tron Sets New World Record: 1,338 km On One Charge

An Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance has rewritten the production EV range record. Polish rally driver and reigning European Rally Champion Miko Marczyk covered 1,338 km (831 miles) on a single charge, beating the previous mark held by a Lucid Air Grand Touring.

The attempt began at 1:55 a.m. on 11 September 2026 in Poland. Marczyk followed the Vistula River through Kraków, Sandomierz, Warsaw, Toruń and Grudziądz before reaching Hel on the Baltic coast, then turned around and retraced the route. After more than 45 hours on public roads, the car stopped between Toruń and Ciechocinek with exactly 1,338 km recorded.

Average energy consumption was 7.09 kWh/100 km or 14.1km per kWh. The car’s official WLTP range is up to 777 km, so the run exceeded the rated figure by more than 70 percent.

The record vehicle was a standard A6 Sportback e-tron performance: rear-wheel drive, 367hp, 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, 94.9 kWh usable battery, 800-volt architecture and a drag coefficient as low as 0.21. As in the standard car, regenerative braking can recover up to 220 kW.

No special prototype hardware was used. The drive took place on public roads in mixed traffic, including rush-hour sections, with temperatures dropping as low as 7°C.

How Did The Audi A6 e-tron Cover That Big A Distance?

Marczyk used classic hypermiling techniques including careful anticipation, maximum regenerative braking, correct tyre pressures, and avoiding unnecessary acceleration or hard braking. The combination of the car’s aerodynamics and an experienced efficiency driver produced the result.

Real-World Range Expectations

This was an optimised efficiency run, not normal daily driving. With air conditioning, traffic, higher speeds and UAE summer heat, no one should expect anything close to 1,338 km. Realistic real-world range will sit well below the WLTP figure and far below the record.

Audi A6 e-tron In the UAE 

The A6 e-tron family forms a part of Audi’s growing electric line-up. While exact local pricing and availability for the Sportback performance variant continue to develop, Audi already has a clear EV presence in the UAE. Long-distance efficiency runs are theoretically possible on quieter stretches of the Emirates Road, and the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway if planned carefully, but high temperatures and heavy air-conditioning use will always reduce the numbers.

Treat 1,338 km as a technical demonstration, not a realistic ownership figure, and the A6 e-tron still looks like a highly efficient executive EV.
