New Lotus Emira 420 Sport Arrives In The UAE: World’s Fastest 4-Cylinder Production Car

Lotus has launched the new Emira 420 Sport in the Middle East, positioning it as the most powerful, lightest, and most aerodynamically capable Emira model to date. The performance-focused sports car becomes the flagship of the Model Year 2027 Emira range. 

In the UAE, the new model will be represented by AGMC, the official distributor for Lotus Cars in the country. Lotus also claims the Emira 420 Sport is the world’s fastest four-cylinder production car, thanks to a top speed of 300km/h.

New Emira Flagship For Lotus

Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine producing 416bhp and 500Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which sends power exclusively to the rear wheels. Lotus has revised the transmission calibration to deliver faster and more intuitive gear changes.

The Emira 420 Sport accelerates from 0–100km/h in 3.9 seconds and reaches 200km/h in 12.47 seconds. It completes the standing quarter mile in 11.91 seconds, while acceleration from 80–120km/h takes 2.4 seconds.

Despite its increased performance, Lotus says the Emira remains suitable for regular road use. Drivers who take the car to a circuit can also use the Lotus Track Pro app, which provides lap timing, predictive timing, video recording and telemetry analysis.

Improved Geometry With Lower Sports Chassis

The new Emira 420 Sport sits 5mm lower than the standard Lotus Emira and uses a dedicated sports chassis. Lotus has revised the suspension geometry to improve cornering response, body control and steering feedback. The lower ride height also reduces the car’s centre of gravity, helping it feel more connected during performance driving.

Customers can add the optional Lotus Lightweight Handling Pack, which introduces Multimatic two-way adjustable dampers. These allow the compression and rebound settings to be adjusted independently.

The package also includes a lithium-ion battery, a titanium exhaust system, a carbon-fibre louvred tailgate, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, and the Lotus Track Pro app.

Together, these components reduce the car’s weight by up to 25kg. The titanium exhaust alone saves around 9kg, while the carbon-fibre tailgate removes approximately 4.9kg from the upper part of the vehicle.

Aerodynamic Changes On The Emira

Lotus has made several aerodynamic changes to improve high-speed stability and track performance. The Emira 420 Sport receives a redesigned front splitter, new front bumper inserts, wheel-arch vents, extended side skirts, larger side air intakes and an extended rear lip spoiler. According to Lotus, these upgrades generate an additional 25kg of downforce compared with the standard Emira without increasing aerodynamic drag. 

Cooling performance has also been improved. Airflow reaching the radiators has increased by 15%, while airflow through the exhaust valve is up by 30%. A dedicated track configuration can provide further cooling for the central radiator and front brakes.

Exposed Carbon Fibre Exterior

The 420 Sport is the first Lotus Emira available with exposed exterior carbon-fibre components. An optional Carbon Fibre Pack applies the lightweight material to the front splitter, wheel-arch vents, side skirts, side intakes, rear lip spoiler and the rear diffuser surround.

Lotus has introduced the model in a new Tangelo Orange launch colour. Other exterior changes include 20-inch, 15-spoke forged alloy wheels finished in satin dark grey and dark-tinted rear lights. Customers can also select different coachlines, brake calliper colours, wheel finishes and exterior accent options.

Alcantara And Carbon Fibre Upgrade The Cabin

Inside, the Emira 420 Sport combines black Nappa leather with perforated Alcantara. An optional Tangelo Orange interior theme adds contrasting orange leather and stitching. Carbon-fibre gearshift paddles and model-specific 420 Sport treadplates are fitted as standard.

An additional Interior Carbon Fibre Pack adds carbon finishes to the steering wheel spokes, the digital driver display surround, and the seat-back plinths.

Lotus Emira 420 Sport In The UAE 

The Emira 420 Sport will sit above the Emira Turbo, Emira Turbo SE and Emira V6 SE in the Model Year 2027 range. Lotus is also introducing a removable tinted glass roof panel across the wider Emira line-up. UAE pricing, ordering information, and expected customer delivery dates will be announced by AGMC at a later stage.
