The largest Chinese car brand, BYD, in association with Al-Futtaim, has launched the 2025 Sealion 7 in the UAE. The compact electric SUV is powered by the world’s fastest mass-produced electric motor, at a starting price of AED 172,900.

The new BYD Sealion 7 is available in two variants: RWD and AWD. Buyers can choose from five single-tone colour options and two interior colours. Here are the variant-wise prices:

• Sealion 7 RWD: AED 172,900
• Sealion 7 AWD: AED 192,900

Bookings for the BYD Sealion 7 have begun on the brand’s official website, and deliveries will soon begin.

Electric Powertrain

BYD offers the new Sealion 7 in two powertrain configurations: single and dual-motor. However, both models feature the same 82.5kWh battery pack, featuring the brand’s revolutionary Blade battery technology.

• The 2025 BYD Sealion 7 is equipped with frequency-selective damping, making the ride firm at low speeds but smoother at higher speeds.
• There are two levels of regenerative braking: Standard (mild deceleration) and High (stronger energy recovery). However, it doesn’t support full one-pedal driving.
• It offers three drive modes: Normal, Eco, and Sport. The iTAC (Intelligent Torque Adaptation Control) system distributes power between wheels for better stability and cornering.
