The Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale
In the late 1990's, it was becoming clear that the beloved F355 Challenge was in need of a worthy replacement. Presented as a street-legal racing alternative to the Ferrari 360, the 360 Challenge Stradale featured a substantial array of improvements derived from the marque's engineering prowess in GT racing machines, used to compete in world championships like the Ferrari Challenge and many of the FIA GT races. A braking system derived from the Enzo, numerous suspension and handling enhancements, a lightweight construction 110kg nimbler than its ‘civilian' 360 counterpart, a bump in engine power, an electro-hydraulic F-1 style gearbox, countless aerodynamic tweaks that provided over 50% more down-force, and the use of titanium and other novel materials were amongst the factors that contributed to the 360 Challenge Stradale being a unique car that performed well on the track, while retaining its usability as a road vehicle (Stradale). Much unlike the later F430 Scuderia and the 458 Speciale, the 360 Challenge Stradale was a comprehensively modified racecar for the street, a true performance machine rather than a ‘race inspired' model. By the end of production in 2005, little over 1,200 Challenge Stradales had left the assembly line in Maranello.
This Car
Originally delivered in Kuwait, this dealer-maintained 2005 Challenge Stradale has only covered 700 kilometres (435 miles) from new. Finished in Argento Nurburnring, it has been preserved in the same condition it left the showroom —entirely original and in immaculate condition. With us as the second owners, it is presented with its Ferrari Classiche Certifiate of Authenticity, all corresponding literature and an additional set of refurbished switches —given the prone nature of the originals to get sticky—, despite the excellent condition of the originals. This is a collector vehicle without excuses, a future classic worthy of the appreciative custody of the expert Ferrarista.
