Summary

This 16-year-old Infiniti FX35 Excellence offers a rare combination of sports sedan agility and SUV presence, featuring a timeless brown exterior that holds its appeal well in the GCC market. With 171,000 km, the mileage is remarkably low for its age – significantly below the typical 320,000 to 400,000 km expected for a vehicle from 2010 in this region. The Excellence trim provides a high-specification cabin that remains competitive today, including high-end leather and advanced camera tech. For a buyer in the UAE or wider GCC, the VQ-series V6 is a major draw for its proven ability to handle extreme summer heat while delivering engaging performance. This is a chance to own a modern classic that was built specifically to bridge the gap between a performance car and a family crossover.

This Car vs Other 2010 FX35s

While many GCC-based vehicles from this era have surpassed the 300,000 km mark due to long-distance highway commutes, this example’s 171,000 km odometer is a major buying advantage. The brown metallic paint is a sophisticated choice that resists the 'faded' look often seen on darker colors in the desert sun, supporting better resale value. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it avoids the salvage history and cooling system incompatibilities frequently associated with imported American or European models.

EXCELLENCE vs Lower Trims

The Excellence trim elevates the FX35 with the innovative Around View Monitor, a 360-degree camera system that is essential for navigating tight parking spaces in Dubai or Riyadh. It also upgrades the cabin with a Bose 11-speaker premium audio system and ventilated front seats, a must-have feature for comfort during the peak GCC summer. These higher-tier additions ensure the car feels considerably more modern than the base models.

FX35 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW X5 or Lexus RX of the same year, the FX35 stands out with its 'Bionic Cheetah' styling and rear-biased all-wheel-drive system that prioritizes driver engagement. It offers a larger 90-litre fuel tank than many rivals, providing superior range for long trips between Emirates or across the border. While competitors may focus on outright utility, the Infiniti leads in cabin aesthetics and engine character.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L V6 is famously robust, but GCC owners should expect real-world fuel consumption of approximately 12–14 L/100km in modern stop-start traffic. Infiniti has a well-established authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are readily available and affordable. The FX series maintains a dedicated following in the region, meaning its depreciation curve has flattened, offering excellent value retention for a 16-year-old luxury SUV.

Performance & Capability

Armed with 299 hp and a quick-shifting 7-speed automatic transmission, the FX35 hits 100 km/h in shared sports-car territory at 6.5 seconds. The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system provides confidence on rain-slicked roads or gravel paths leading to weekend desert camps. While it isn't a dedicated sand-dune basher, its high ground clearance and Snow Mode make it perfectly capable of handling the diverse terrains found across the GCC.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a driver-focused cockpit featuring hand-crafted materials and dual-zone climate control with powerful rear cooling vents to keep all five passengers comfortable. Acoustic glass insulation keeps the interior quiet during high-speed highway cruising, while the quilted leather seats provide excellent support for long-distance drives. The inclusion of a USB port and early iPod integration ensures you can still enjoy modern connectivity in this classic interior.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive for the 2010 model year, featuring a full suite of airbags and the advanced 360-degree camera system that provides a bird's-eye view of the car's surroundings. Standard stability and traction control systems are specifically tuned to handle the loss of grip on sandy road surfaces. This trim also includes bi-xenon adaptive headlights that improve visibility considerably during unlit desert highway night drives.

The bottom line

This FX35 Excellence is the ideal choice for a buyer wanting a high-spec, reliable luxury SUV with much lower mileage than the market average. It offers iconic Japanese engineering and segment-leading tech that still feels premium on UAE roads today.
