Summary

This 16-year-old Toyota Camry LE remains one of the most practical entry points into reliable daily motoring in the GCC. While the high mileage reflects a lifetime of service, the 2010 model year introduced the refined 2.5L engine and 6-speed automatic, offering a significant jump in smoothness over earlier versions. In the local market, the grey exterior is a resilient choice that handles the region's dust and heat with minimal visual wear compared to darker tones. The Camry’s reputation for mechanical simplicity makes it a favorite for those prioritizing uptime and low-cost maintenance. For a buyer looking for a proven workhorse that can still manage the daily commute between emirates, this LE trim provides the essential comforts with legendary durability.

This Car vs Other 2010 Camrys

With 400,000 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly more than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km per year. However, for a 16-year-old Toyota, this often signals a car that has been kept in active service rather than sitting idle, which is vital for maintaining seals and cooling systems in the heat. The grey metallic finish is highly regarded for resale in the UAE and KSA as it resists fading and conceals light road dust better than almost any other color.

LE vs Lower Trims

The LE trim was the volume leader for the 2010 facelift, adding essential conveniences over the base 'CE' or standard Camry grade. It features a 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and remote keyless entry, which are highly valued in the local market for daily ease of use. Crucially, the LE also upgraded the interior with better-quality cloth upholstery and silver-tone accents that have aged better in the high-UV GCC environment than the basic plastics of the entry-level trim.

Camry vs Segment Rivals

The Camry leads competitors like the Honda Accord and Nissan Altima in terms of sheer serviceability and parts availability across the entire GCC, from major cities to rural areas. Its 70-liter fuel tank provides a distinct advantage for long-distance desert highway drives, often stretching further between refills than the Altima. While rivals may offer slightly firmer handling, the Camry’s suspension is tuned specifically for comfort, absorbing the road imperfections found in varied regional terrains more effectively.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine typically averages around 9.0 L/100km in combined GCC driving, though this can rise in the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. Toyota retains the highest value of any mid-size sedan in the region, with the 2010 model benefiting from a massive secondary market for parts and specialized independent garages. Expect standard service intervals at 5,000 km or 10,000 km, with authorized centers easily accessible in every major GCC territory including UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5L engine produces a reliable 169 hp, delivering a 0–100 km/h time of approximately 8.7 seconds—a notable improvement for the 2010 refresh. This power is managed by a 6-speed automatic transmission that is tuned for highway efficiency and smooth overtaking during cross-country trips. Its front-wheel-drive layout and 16-inch wheels provide a stable, predictable ride that is well-suited for both city commuting and the long, straight highways connecting the emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five adult passengers with a focus on long-distance ergonomics and powerful air conditioning, a necessity for the 45°C+ summer months. Standard features include power windows with auto up/down on all four doors and a 6-speaker audio system with an auxiliary input. The LE trim's cloth seating stays significantly cooler than leather in direct sunlight, providing immediate comfort after the car has been parked outside.

Safety

Safety was a major focus for the 2010 update, which made Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRAC) standard equipment. Occupants are protected by a comprehensive suite of seven airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag and side curtain airbags for both rows. These active systems are particularly beneficial on fast-moving multi-lane highways where stability at speed is paramount.

The bottom line

For the budget-conscious GCC buyer, this Camry LE is a sensible opportunity to own a vehicle with the most reliable parts network in the region. It is the ideal choice for a driver who needs a dependable daily commuter that can withstand the rigors of the local climate.
