• 0–100 km/h in 5.4 seconds
• Triple locking differentials standard

Summary

This 2013 G63 AMG represents a significant milestone as the first year of the biturbo M157 era, offering a major leap in daily usability over its predecessor. With 181,000 km, this vehicle has averaged roughly 14,000 km per year, which is remarkably low compared to the typical 20,000+ km GCC annual average for luxury SUVs. Finished in Black—a high-demand resale color in the UAE—this GCC-spec model is perfectly adapted for the regional climate with its robust cooling systems. The G63 remains the definitive choice for those who require genuine off-road hardware paired with an iconic, vertically-oriented road presence. It is a rare opportunity to own a well-preserved example of the original modern-era performance G-Wagon.

This Car vs Other 2013 G63 AMGs

While many 13-year-old SUVs in the GCC have surpassed the 250,000 km mark due to cross-emirate commuting, this example shows relatively restrained usage at 181,000 km. The Black exterior is a 'safe' investment in the local market, consistently fetching higher resale prices than more niche colors. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it avoids the common navigation and radio frequency issues found in imported North American models.

G63 AMG vs Lower Trims

The G63 AMG was the first to introduce the 5.5L biturbo engine, replacing the naturally aspirated units in lower trims and older models. Beyond the power jump, this trim added the distinctive side-exit twin exhausts, 20-inch AMG five-spoke alloy wheels, and a unique 'twin-blade' radiator grille. Inside, the G63 came standard with the Harman Kardon Logic 7 sound system and a designo leather interior that was optional on the G500.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 stands alone against rivals like the Range Rover Supercharged and Lexus LX 570 by offering a professional-grade triple-locking differential system. Its 96-litre fuel tank provides a distinct advantage for long desert highway runs compared to sportier, road-biased crossovers. While competitors focus on car-like monocoque refinement, the G-Wagon leads in pure structural durability and mechanical presence.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the M157 V8 typically ranges between 13.8L/100km on the highway to over 17L/100km in stop-start Dubai traffic. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, with major fluids and spark plugs requiring attention every 40,000 km at authorized Mercedes-Benz centers found across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The G63 enjoys one of the lowest depreciation rates in the luxury segment, often retaining value better than rivals due to its timeless design and cult following.

Performance & Capability

The G63 delivers 544 hp and 760 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint of just 5.4 seconds—an impressive feat for a 2.5-ton vehicle. Its off-road prowess is unmatched, featuring a low-range transfer case and three independent differential locks (front, center, and rear) selectable via the dashboard. This hardware makes it as capable in the deep sands of Liwa as it is poised on the E11 highway.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a mix of utilitarian architecture and modern luxury, featuring a 5-seat layout with multi-contour front seats. GCC-essential features include a powerful dual-zone climate control system and rear-cabin air vents designed to combat extreme summer temperatures. The 2013 refresh introduced the COMAND infotainment system with a color display, ensuring the cockpit feels aligned with modern standards.

Safety

Standard safety technology on this trim includes Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control, which is invaluable for long highway drives between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It also features Blind Spot Assist, Parktronic sensors, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) specifically tuned for the G-Class's high center of gravity. Multiple airbags and a robust body-on-frame construction provide a high level of passive protection.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a GCC enthusiast seeking an iconic AMG with sensible mileage and a strong resale profile. It offers the perfect balance of legendary off-road hardware and the modern biturbo performance that defined the G-Wagon's recent history.
