Summary

This GCC-spec Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG represents the iconic boxy silhouette that has defined luxury off-roading for decades. In the Gulf market, a white exterior is the most sought-after color for heat rejection and high resale value, making this a strategic choice for long-term ownership. Despite its utilitarian roots, the hand-assembled AMG powertrain delivers sportscar-rivalling performance that dominates both city highways and desert dunes. This specific 2014 model sits in the sweet spot of the G-Wagon’s previous generation, offering modern tech like Distronic Plus while maintaining the mechanical ruggedness the region demands. For any buyer in the UAE or wider GCC, the combination of local spec and a timeless color makes this an exceptionally liquid asset.

This Car vs Other 2014 G63 AMGs

With 176,000 km, this vehicle’s mileage is exactly in line with the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km per year for a decade-old SUV. While many G-Wagons in the market are imported from Japan or the US, this genuine GCC-spec unit features the factory-upgraded cooling systems designed specifically for 50°C summers. The white paintwork is a significant advantage in the local market, typically holding a value premium over darker colors due to better thermal management.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the flagship G63 AMG, this trim introduces the hand-built M157 biturbo V8, replacing the naturally aspirated units found in the G500. It adds the high-performance AMG SpeedShift 7G-Tronic transmission and larger 20-inch wheels with high-performance braking as standard. Inside, the G63 features the Designo leather interior and the premium Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system which were optional or unavailable on lower G-Class tiers.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 stands unique against the Range Rover Autobiography and Lexus LX 570 by utilizing a dedicated body-on-frame construction with three independent locking differentials. While the Lexus offers more soft-road reliability, the G63 provides significantly higher horsepower and a much more aggressive exhaust note. For the GCC buyer, the G63 offers a level of social prestige and street presence that rivals in the luxury SUV segment rarely match.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 13.8 L/100km, though this increases in stop-start Dubai or Riyadh traffic. As a GCC-spec Mercedes-Benz, it benefits from the region's most comprehensive luxury service network, with authorized centers available in every major city from Abu Dhabi to Muscat. The G63 AMG historically retains value better than almost any other European SUV in the Middle East, with annual depreciation for well-maintained GCC models remaining remarkably low compared to its competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 5.5-litre V8 produces a verified 530 hp and 760 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint of just 5.4 seconds. Its off-road hardware is professional-grade, featuring a low-range transfer case and 211 mm of ground clearance to tackle deep sand or rocky wadis. On the highway, the full-time all-wheel-drive system and AMG-tuned suspension provide stable, high-speed cruising suitable for long-distance trips between Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a blend of old-school luxury and modern convenience, featuring five seats upholstered in premium Nappa leather. GCC-essential features include a powerful dual-zone climate control system and ventilated front seats to combat the summer heat. The upright glass house provides excellent visibility for desert driving, while acoustic insulation helps keep the interior quiet despite the vehicle's boxy aerodynamics.

Safety

Standard safety tech for this model year includes Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control, which is highly effective for long desert highway drives. It also features Blind Spot Assist to manage fast-moving multi-lane traffic and the Parktronic system with a rearview camera for easier urban maneuvering. The heavy-duty steel frame provides a robust safety shell that few monocoque SUVs can equal.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who wants the definitive GCC status symbol without the new-car depreciation, this white GCC-spec G63 is a mechanically sound and high-resale opportunity.
