Summary

This 2014 Pathfinder SV offers a spacious seven-seat cabin that remains a favorite for families across the GCC. As a mid-tier trim, it balances premium features like a 360-degree camera with the mechanical simplicity required for long-term regional use. While the mileage reflects its life as a dedicated highway cruiser, the robust V6 powertrain is specifically engineered to handle the high-heat demands of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It stands out in its segment for its car-like ride comfort and fuel efficiency compared to traditional body-on-frame SUVs. For a buyer looking for a reliable, multi-row workhorse with proven GCC parts availability, this listing represents a practical entry into the full-size family segment.

This Car vs Other 2014 Pathfinders

With 330,000 km, this vehicle has served as a dedicated long-distance traveler, which is common in the GCC where highway-heavy commutes between emirates or major cities are routine. While this mileage is high relative to the regional average of 20,000 km per year, it demonstrates the durability of the 3.5L V6 engine when maintained within the local service network. The Brown exterior is a practical choice for the region, masking dust well and holding its resale value better than more niche colors in the used market.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim is a significant upgrade over the base S model, introducing several features that are essential for the GCC climate and lifestyle. It adds a 360-degree Around View Monitor, which is invaluable for parking a vehicle of this size in tight urban spaces. Additionally, the SV typically includes a remote engine starter—a critical feature for cooling the cabin before entry during the peak summer months—and a larger touchscreen interface for better visibility and control.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

The 2014 Pathfinder competes directly with the Honda Pilot and Ford Explorer. It distinguishes itself with its Xtronic CVT, which provides a smoother, more fuel-efficient power delivery than the traditional automatics found in some older rivals. Its 74-litre fuel tank provides a substantial range, making it an excellent choice for cross-border trips or long desert highway drives where service stations can be spaced far apart.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this V6 sits at approximately 9.5 L/100km combined, offering a competitive advantage over heavier body-on-frame competitors. Nissan’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait ensures that maintenance is straightforward and parts are readily available. As a Japanese-engineered SUV, the Pathfinder experiences a slower depreciation rate than its European counterparts, typically retaining more value at the 10-year mark in the GCC market.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 3.5L V6 engine producing approximately 260 hp, the Pathfinder delivers steady performance for highway overtaking and full-occupancy trips. While this generation transitioned to a monocoque chassis for better road handling, it maintains a respectable ground clearance suitable for gravel paths and light weekend camping trips. The focus here is on passenger refinement and long-distance comfort, ensuring a fatigue-free experience during the three-hour drives common between major GCC hubs.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat configuration features an EZ Flex Seating System, allowing easy access to the third row even with a child seat installed in the second. The cabin is designed with the GCC climate in mind, featuring powerful dual-zone automatic climate control and dedicated rear-seat vents to ensure all passengers stay cool in 45°C+ heat. The SV trim also brings upgraded interior materials and acoustic glass that helps isolate the cabin from wind noise during fast highway cruising.

Safety

This Pathfinder comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags and stability control as standard. The SV trim’s standout safety feature is the 360-degree camera system, which provides a bird's-eye view to help detect obstacles around the vehicle. These active systems are complemented by tire pressure monitoring, which is particularly useful for maintaining safety during high-speed highway travel on hot asphalt surfaces.

The bottom line

For the budget-conscious family needing a reliable seven-seater with a strong GCC service history, this Pathfinder SV is a proven workhorse that offers more technology than base-model rivals.
