Summary

This 2014 Nissan Patrol LE Platinum City represents the top-tier configuration of a regional icon, pairing the powerful 400 hp V8 with high-end luxury features. In the white exterior color, it holds a significant advantage in the GCC market, as this shade is highly preferred for its heat-reflecting properties and superior resale demand. With 175,000 km, the mileage is well within the expected range for a decade-old cruiser in this region, where highway distances are substantial. The Patrol stands out for its legendary ability to balance premium family transport with genuine desert capability. For a GCC buyer, the primary consideration is the peace of mind provided by a robust cooling system and parts availability that remains unmatched in the segment.

This Car vs Other 2014 Patrols

At 175,000 km, this vehicle has averaged approximately 17,500 km per year, which is notably lower than the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local used market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention compared to darker alternatives. While many 2014 models may show signs of heavy desert use, this Platinum City trim is typically road-biased, preserving the integrity of its hydraulic suspension components.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum City is the range-topping variant, adding the 'City' bumper for a more sophisticated look and 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels. Inside, it upgrades the cabin with premium quilted leather, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, and a 360-degree Around View Monitor that is absent on LE T1 and T2 trims. Crucially for the GCC summer, it features ventilated front seats and a factory-fitted refrigerator in the center console.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol leads the Toyota Land Cruiser in on-road refinement and interior technology for this model year, offering a more car-like ride thanks to the Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC). Its 140-litre fuel tank provides superior range for long cross-border drives compared to the smaller standard tanks in the Chevrolet Tahoe or Ford Expedition. Additionally, the 400 hp V8 offers a higher power output than the 5.7L V8 found in contemporary Land Cruiser VXR models.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 typically ranges between 14.5L/100km on highways and up to 18L/100km in stop-start city traffic. The Patrol is famous for its value retention, typically depreciating at a slow rate of 8-10% annually in the GCC, significantly outperforming European luxury SUV rivals. Nissan’s service network is one of the most extensive in the Middle East, with authorized centers and affordable spare parts available in every major city from Dubai to Riyadh.

Performance & Capability

The 5.6-litre V8 delivers 400 hp and 560 Nm of torque, enabling smooth overtaking on high-speed UAE highways even when fully loaded. It features a sophisticated All-Mode 4x4 system with selectable modes for Sand, Rock, Snow, and On-road driving, making it a capable companion for weekend desert excursions. Ground clearance of approximately 273 mm allows it to clear obstacles that would stop most family crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

This 8-seater configuration offers a genuinely usable third row, suitable for adult passengers on shorter trips across the city. The multi-zone climate control is specifically engineered for 45°C+ temperatures, featuring dedicated ceiling vents for the second and third rows. The cabin is further insulated by acoustic glass, ensuring a quiet environment even at highway speeds.

Safety

The LE Platinum City comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags and an Around View Monitor with moving object detection. Advanced features for this model year include Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Intelligent Cruise Control, which are particularly useful for maintaining safety on busy multi-lane highways. It also features ISOFIX child seat anchors in the second row for family security.

The bottom line

For the family that needs a luxury cruiser during the week and a capable desert explorer on the weekend, this low-mileage Platinum City is a perfect, high-resale investment.
