Summary

This Audi Q5 40 TFSI represents a balanced entry into the luxury SUV segment, pairing the legendary quattro all-wheel-drive system with a punchy 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. With a Blue exterior that maintains strong resale appeal in the GCC, this vehicle offers the premium German build quality Audi is known for. The 40 TFSI trim provides a significant power bump over base models, making it much better suited for the fast-paced highway traffic seen across the UAE. For a buyer seeking a refined daily driver that handles both city commutes and weekend road trips with ease, this GCC-spec example is a highly capable choice.

This Car vs Other 2015 Q5s

At 11 years old, this Q5 has covered 134,905 km, which averages out to approximately 12,200 km per year. This is significantly lower than the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km, positioning this as a lower-than-average mileage example for the local market. The Blue metallic finish is a sophisticated alternative to the common white or silver, yet it remains a stable color for future resale in the region.

40 TFSI vs Lower Trims

The 40 TFSI trim is a notable step up from the base 35 TFSI, delivering 225 hp compared to the entry-level output. This trim typically includes the upgraded MMI navigation system, xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights, and a power tailgate, which were premium options on lower configurations. These features are highly valued by GCC buyers for both their aesthetic appeal and daily convenience.

Q5 vs Segment Rivals

The Audi Q5 competes directly with the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. It stands out by offering one of the most car-like driving experiences in the segment thanks to its well-tuned suspension and lower center of gravity. While rivals often lean toward either pure sport or pure comfort, the Q5 occupies a middle ground of refinement that makes it particularly comfortable for the long highway stretches between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine offers a respectable real-world fuel economy of approximately 7.9 L/100km on the highway, though this will increase in heavy GCC stop-start city traffic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a wide network of authorized service centers and specialized independent garages throughout the UAE. First-generation Q5s tend to follow a standard European luxury depreciation curve, typically retaining more value when kept in original GCC specification.

Performance & Capability

With a top speed of 230 km/h and a 0–100 km/h time of 7.1 seconds, the 40 TFSI is surprisingly quick for a mid-sized SUV. The quattro all-wheel-drive system provides exceptional stability during the rare heavy rains in the UAE and on gravel tracks during weekend escapes. It features 200 mm of ground clearance, offering enough versatility for light off-road use while maintaining excellent poise on paved roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a classic example of Audi ergonomics, featuring premium leather upholstery and a flexible 40/20/40 split-folding rear seat configuration. The standard 540-litre boot expands to over 1,500 litres with the seats down, providing ample space for family airport runs or shopping trips. Specialized insulation helps shield the cabin from the intense GCC summer heat, ensuring the climate control system maintains a consistent temperature even in 45°C weather.

Safety

This Q5 comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist. The quattro system acts as a proactive safety feature by constantly redistributing power to the wheels with the most grip. Parking sensors and a rigid passenger cell add further layers of protection, contributing to the model year's high safety standing in its class.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Q5 is an ideal match for an executive or small family looking for a low-mileage European SUV that balances performance with everyday practicality.
