About the Audi Q5

Oddly enough, the Q5 debuted as a two door convertible before morphing into a four-door compact luxury SUV. It filled a much-needed gap in Audi’s stable as the brand only had one SUV on offer. It proved popular as it was an affordable SUV that was not only small in size but packed with options.

In its first generation, the Audi Q5 strapped on its four-door persona and traverse the streets of the world.

Features include LED-Daytime running light, navigation, cruise control modes, multi-function steering wheel, reverse camera, media inputs, electric sunroof, climate control, power seats, memory seats, keyless entry, keyless start, high beam assist, electric parking brake, multiple airbags, leather upholstery, rear spoiler and various rim sizes. In 2012 trim and upwards, Audi Q5’s have a redesigned front and rear light housings, slight modifications to the interior and a selection of interior accents including three wood ones and an aluminium set.

Power is drawn from 2-litre turbocharged four cylinder petrol motor rated at 211 horsepower or a 3.2-litre V6 motor rated at 271 horsepower. 7-speed automatic gearboxes are standard in the UAE with manual boxes available in import models.

2017 Audi Q5 in Dubai, UAE

It’s said that the German manufacturer will launch a new generation of Audi Q5 models in 2017 trim. Not much is known about the cars however, they are expected to follow in the footsteps of current models with revised headlights, front grille, new underpinnings and a spruced-up interior.

Interior options are said to remain similar to the first generation with the possibility of the brands new digital dashboard sizing up the interior.

Power units are expected to remain similar, with a selection of four and six cylinder motors with various displacements and inductions. Audi’s desirable Quattro drivetrain will be stock once again.
