Summary

This Nissan Pathfinder is a quintessential family workhorse, offering seven seats and a smooth V6 engine that remains a staple across the UAE. At 12 years old, its mileage sits right at the expected average for the GCC, suggesting consistent use without excessive long-range wear common in regional commuters. The silver exterior is one of the most practical choices for the local climate, known for both heat reflection and strong resale demand. While rivals have moved toward smaller turbocharged units, this 3.5L naturally aspirated powertrain offers the long-term mechanical simplicity that local workshops know inside out.

This Car vs Other 2014 Pathfinders

With 181,000 km over 12 years, this vehicle reflects an annual usage of roughly 15,000 km, which is notably lower than the typical 20,000-25,000 km GCC average for family SUVs. The silver paint is a strategic advantage for regional buyers, as it hides dust well and is highly preferred in the pre-owned market. This combination of standard mileage and a high-demand color makes it a stable choice for those prioritizing ease of eventual resale.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim provides a meaningful upgrade over the base S model, most notably adding a rearview monitor and rear sonar sensors which are essential for navigating tight parking spaces in the city. Inside, the SV adds a 7-inch QVGA color monitor and an upgraded audio system with SiriusXM capability and USB connectivity. You also benefit from automatic headlights and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, elevating the daily driving experience.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Highlander and Ford Explorer of the same era, the Pathfinder stands out for its EZ Flex seating system, allowing the second row to slide and tilt even with a child seat installed. Its 73-litre fuel tank provides the necessary range for cross-emirate highway trips. While the Explorer offers more rugged aesthetics, the Pathfinder is tuned for road comfort and fuel efficiency, making it the more sensible city-bound family transporter.

Running Costs & Resale

Nissan's widespread presence across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures that parts and expert service are available in almost every major city. The 3.5L V6 is designed to run on 95-octane fuel, with real-world combined consumption averaging around 10.6L/100km. Japanese SUVs like the Pathfinder typically experience a lower depreciation rate of 8-10% annually in the GCC, significantly outperforming American and European rivals in value retention.

Performance & Capability

The 260 hp V6 engine provides smooth, linear power ideal for highway overtaking and cruising at speed on the E11. With a 5,000 lbs towing capacity, it is fully capable of hauling jet skis or a small trailer for weekend desert trips. The intelligent Four Wheel Drive system allows you to switch between 2WD for fuel efficiency and Auto mode for increased grip on rain-slicked roads or gravel paths.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is engineered for family logistics, featuring a tri-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents to ensure all seven passengers stay cool during peak summer heat. Acoustic glass and improved insulation help isolate the interior from road noise during high-speed highway commutes. Ample storage bins and eight cup holders cater to the needs of larger families on long road trips.

Safety

Safety is prioritized with a suite of six airbags and a tire pressure monitoring system that includes Nissan's Easy-Fill Tire Alert—a helpful feature for maintaining correct pressures in varying desert temperatures. Standard Vehicle Dynamic Control and Traction Control help maintain stability on loose sand or during sudden highway maneuvers, while the SV's rear sonar adds an extra layer of protection during reverse parking.

The bottom line

This Pathfinder is the ideal match for a growing family seeking a reliable, GCC-spec 7-seater that has been driven responsibly within regional mileage norms. It offers the perfect balance of Nissan's legendary parts availability and the upgraded tech of the SV trim.
