The Ferrari California is a landmark car for the brand, being the first front-engined Ferrari with a V8 and featuring a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
With the debut of the California T in 2014 for the 2015 model year, Ferrari upped the game with a new interior, a revised chassis, and a turbocharged powertrain.
The "T" in the moniker stands for Turbo, making this the first forced-induction street Ferrari since the F40. The 3,855cc twin-turbo V8 engine (F154BB) pushes out 553 hp and 755 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with different gear ratios. It also boasts a new F1 Trac system. The California T utilizes small turbos and a variable boost management system to reduce turbo lag, enabling it to hit the 100 km/h mark from a standstill in just 3.6 glorious-sounding seconds.
On the exterior, the car features a new front fascia inspired by the F12, a revised rear section, and an updated interior. The revised rear end replaces the two sets of vertically stacked exhaust pipes with four horizontally aligned pipes.
The California T has been updated with a range of features, letting you comfortably use it as a tourer as it’s meant to be. It includes Apple CarPlay built into the infotainment system, a multi-function steering wheel with buttons for the starter, indicators, headlights, wiper functions, and the Manettino switch. A new digital gauge between the two central vents for the turbo boost.
The steering box has a 10 percent quicker rack, and Ferrari’s F1-inspired traction control system is better suited to turbocharged engines, ensuring that the entry-level Ferrari GT handles better than ever.
