Summary

This 11-year-old G63 AMG represents the final era of the raw, narrow-body W463 generation, a design that holds legendary status and exceptional resale strength across the GCC. Finished in White—one of the most liquid and heat-friendly colors in the local market—it combines supercar-level acceleration with a rugged body-on-frame construction that is built to last. While the mileage reflects the long-distance highway commutes typical for premium SUVs in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the mechanical durability of the 5.5L powertrain is well-regarded for high-temperature reliability. This is a rare opportunity to own a hand-assembled performance icon that feels as at home on the streets of Jumeirah as it does on a cross-border expedition.

This Car vs Other 2015 G63 AMGs

With 227,500 km, this vehicle has been driven more than the global average but sits right within the expected range for a high-performance daily driver in the GCC, where annual distances often exceed 20,000 km. The White exterior is a significant advantage for the local market, as it offers the best heat rejection for the desert climate and commands the quickest turnaround at resale. Compared to many imported units, this GCC-spec car ensures the cooling system and air conditioning are optimized for extreme 50°C+ summer peaks.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The G63 AMG is a significant mechanical leap over the standard G500, replacing the naturally aspirated engine with a hand-built Biturbo V8 and adding high-performance AMG braking systems with signature red calipers. Inside, this trim introduces the designo leather interior and a more advanced Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system as standard, features that are highly prized by second-hand buyers in the region. The AMG-specific suspension tuning also provides a much flatter, more controlled cornering experience on high-speed bypass roads compared to the softer base model.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

Unlike the Range Rover SVR or Porsche Cayenne Turbo, the G63 utilizes a heavy-duty ladder-frame chassis and three independent locking differentials, making it the only vehicle in its class with genuine, heavy-duty off-road hardware. While rivals focus on car-like monocoque handling, the Mercedes offers a commanding upright driving position and a 96-litre fuel tank, providing superior range for long desert highway stretches between cities. Its iconic boxy silhouette also ensures far lower depreciation than its more aerodynamic competitors in the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

The G63 is a blue-chip asset in the UAE and Saudi used markets, with the W463 generation typically depreciating at a much slower rate of roughly 10-12% annually compared to 15%+ for other European luxury SUVs. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 13.8L/100km, though this can rise in stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are 15,000 km, and with one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the world spanning all major GCC cities, parts availability and expert maintenance are never an issue.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this machine is the M157 5.5L V8 producing 536 hp and 760 Nm of torque, enabling effortless highway overtaking even at high ambient temperatures. It features a permanent 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and a dual-range transfer case, allowing for serious weekend dune bashing or rocky wadi exploration. With a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity and 210 mm of ground clearance, it remains one of the most capable multi-purpose vehicles ever engineered.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of luxury, featuring 10-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats that are essential for maintaining comfort during the intense Gulf summer. Dual-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents ensures all five passengers stay cool, while the acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from road noise during long inter-emirate drives. The upright greenhouse provides excellent visibility, making this large SUV surprisingly easy to navigate through tight urban parking areas.

Safety

Standard safety tech for this GCC-spec G63 includes Blind Spot Assist and Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control, both of which are invaluable for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highway traffic. The vehicle is equipped with a robust array of airbags and Mercedes-Benz’s PRE-SAFE system, which prepares the cabin for a potential impact. Its heavy steel construction and electronic stability program specifically tuned for a high center of gravity provide a reassuring sense of solidity on both sand and asphalt.

The bottom line

For the buyer who values the timeless aesthetic and mechanical purity of the original G-Wagon, this GCC-spec G63 AMG offers the perfect balance of performance and long-term value retention.
