Mercedes Benz C450 AMG 4MATIC

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds
• 362 hp from a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6
• Full ADAS suite standard

Summary

This GCC-spec sedan offers the perfect bridge between standard luxury and high-performance, featuring a potent twin-turbo V6 that delivers effortless highway power. With 120,000 km, the mileage is slightly below the GCC annual average for a car of this age, suggesting a well-maintained life on the region's highways. The grey exterior is a highly desirable choice in the local market, ensuring strong resale interest and better heat management than darker shades. For those who find the C63 too aggressive for daily UAE traffic, this 4MATIC variant provides superior all-weather grip and refined comfort. It stands out as a sophisticated daily driver that remains composed during long inter-emirate commutes while offering genuine performance when requested.

This Car vs Other 2016 C450 AMGs

At 120,000 km, this vehicle has averaged approximately 15,000 km per year, which is lower than the 20,000–25,000 km typically seen in the GCC market. Its grey exterior is one of the top three colors for value retention in the UAE, providing a neutral yet premium aesthetic that resists the visible effects of desert dust. Being a GCC-spec model, it features the necessary cooling upgrades and regional warranty-friendly parts that American or European imports lack.

4MATIC vs Lower Trims

The jump to the C450 4MATIC replaces the standard 4-cylinder engines with a twin-turbo V6 and adds a performance-tuned all-wheel-drive system with a 33:67 rear-bias torque split. Inside, you receive the flat-bottom Nappa leather steering wheel and AMG-specific instrumentation that elevates the cabin beyond the base C300. Crucially for the GCC, this trim often includes enhanced cooling systems and larger performance brakes as standard equipment.

C450 AMG vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the BMW 340i and Audi S4 of the same era, the Mercedes leads with a more expressive, S-Class-inspired interior design and superior cabin materials. Its 4MATIC system is specifically tuned by AMG for better stability on sandy or rain-slicked UAE roads compared to the more clinical feel of its rivals. The V6 biturbo offers a smoother power delivery that is better suited for high-speed cruising between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.3 L/100km in city traffic and drops significantly during highway cruising, which is excellent for a 362 hp performance sedan. Mercedes-Benz maintains one of the most robust authorized service networks across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts availability is never a concern. As a rare one-year-only model (before being renamed the C43), it retains its value well among enthusiasts who appreciate its specific mechanical pedigree.

Performance & Capability

With a verified 0–100 km/h time of 4.9 seconds, this sedan offers serious overtaking ability on fast-moving highways like the E11. The electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h is managed by an AMG-tuned sports suspension that can be adjusted via five distinct drive modes, including Sport Plus for maximum engagement. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system ensures the 520 Nm of torque is translated into immediate, stable traction on all surfaces.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features heavily bolstered sport seats that provide excellent support during long drives, paired with a high-resolution COMAND infotainment system. The climate control is designed for extreme GCC summers, featuring powerful airflow and dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool. Acoustic glazing helps isolate the cabin from wind noise, making it a quiet and refined environment even at highway speeds.

Safety

This model comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite, including Collision Prevention Assist Plus with autonomous braking and Attention Assist, which is vital for long desert stretches. Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist provide essential support in the fast-paced, multi-lane traffic environments of major GCC cities. Multiple airbags and a high-strength steel passenger cell ensure top-tier protection for all occupants.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec C450 AMG is the ideal choice for an executive who needs a sophisticated daily commuter with the heart of a performance car. It offers a rare balance of regional suitability, desirable color, and sensible mileage that makes it a standout opportunity in the current market.
