Summary

This 2016 Nissan Pathfinder SV offers a balanced profile for families in the UAE, featuring a mid-range mileage of 124,000 km that aligns perfectly with the region's higher annual driving averages. The Blue exterior provides a refreshing alternative to the standard palette while remaining a respected choice for resale value in the local market. As a GCC-spec SUV, it is engineered to withstand extreme temperatures, ensuring the air conditioning and cooling systems perform reliably through the peak of summer. Its versatile 7-seat layout and reputable V6 engine make it a standout choice for those who need a dependable daily driver that can transition seamlessly to weekend family road trips.

This Car vs Other 2016 Pathfinders

With 124,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits comfortably at the average mileage mark for an eight-year-old car in the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km per year is the standard. Unlike many higher-mileage examples used for heavy off-roading, this SV trim is typically highway-driven, preserving its mechanical integrity. The Blue paintwork is a distinctive yet resale-friendly choice that holds up well against the intense sun compared to darker, heat-absorbing tones.

SV vs Lower Trims

Steering into the SV trim provides significant upgrades over the entry-level S, most notably the inclusion of a RearView Monitor and Rear Sonar, which are essential for navigating tight parking spots in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. You also gain remote engine start—a must-have GCC feature for pre-cooling the cabin—and an 8-way power driver's seat for enhanced comfort on long desert hauls. The addition of fog lights and an auto-dimming rearview mirror further improves visibility during seasonal sandstorms and night driving.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Highlander and Ford Explorer, the Pathfinder leads with its EZ Flex Seating System, allowing for easier access to the third row even with a child seat installed. Its 73-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range, making it highly competitive for cross-emirate journeys. The unibody construction offers a smoother, more car-like ride quality on paved highways than more rugged, body-on-frame competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Nissan maintains one of the most robust service networks across the UAE and the wider GCC, ensuring that spare parts are affordable and readily available at authorized centers. The 3.5L V6 is known for its durability in stop-start city traffic, typically requiring service every 10,000 km. Historically, the Pathfinder retains its value well in the local market, benefiting from Nissan's strong brand reputation and the high demand for reliable 7-seat family SUVs.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 254 hp V6 engine, this Pathfinder delivers smooth, linear power ideal for overtaking on high-speed roads like the E11. The All-Wheel Drive system provides added stability on rain-slicked roads or gravel tracks, while the 2,267 kg (5,000 lbs) towing capacity makes it capable of hauling jet skis or light trailers. Its CVT is tuned for efficiency, helping to manage fuel consumption during the long-distance highway cruises common in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the Gulf climate, featuring a powerful Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control system with dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure every passenger stays cool. The SV trim includes upgraded cloth upholstery and a 7-inch color display for clear access to vehicle settings and entertainment. Generous legroom in the second row and a flexible cargo space that expands to over 2,200 litres with seats folded make it a practical hub for large families.

Safety

Standard safety features on the SV trim include six airbags, Traction Control, and Vehicle Dynamic Control to help maintain stability on diverse surfaces. The RearView Monitor and parking sensors are vital for safely managing the vehicle's size in urban environments. Anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution ensure consistent stopping power, providing peace of mind during the unpredictable traffic conditions often found on major GCC highways.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Pathfinder SV is the ideal match for a growing family seeking a reliable, well-maintained SUV that balances modern tech with proven mechanical durability.
