Summary

This 2020 Nissan Pathfinder SL is a versatile 7-seater that balances family utility with robust capability, featuring a 3.5L V6 engine that is well-suited for both city commutes and long-distance highway cruises across the Emirates. With 97,000 km over 6 years, it has been driven approximately 16,000 km per year, which is well below the typical GCC average, making it a mechanically fresh option in the used market. The SL trim is a significant step up, providing premium leather upholstery and advanced driver assistance that many buyers prioritize for safety on fast-moving multi-lane roads. Finished in Grey, a neutral and practical choice for the region, this Pathfinder offers a comfortable interior designed to handle the high-temperature climate with a dedicated rear-seat climate zone. For the GCC buyer, the extensive Nissan service network ensures that parts and maintenance remain accessible and affordable for long-term ownership.

This Car vs Other 2020 Pathfinders

With only 97,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has seen lighter use than the typical 20,000-25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. While it is an American spec vehicle, it offers the same fundamental powertrain and dimensions as local units. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, showing less dust and maintaining its appearance better than darker shades during summer.

SL vs Lower Trims

The SL trim adds essential luxury and tech features that aren't found on the S or SV, including a 360-degree Around View Monitor and a motion-activated power liftgate. Inside, you get a significant upgrade to leather-appointed seating and a navigation system, which is particularly useful for inter-emirate travel. It also steps up safety with Intelligent Cruise Control and Blind Spot Warning standard.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

The Pathfinder leads many rivals like the Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander with its impressive 2,722 kg towing capacity, making it the preferred choice for those hauling jet skis or trailers. Its 74-litre fuel tank provides substantial range for long desert highway stretches between major cities. The EZ-FLEX seating system also makes third-row access easier than many competitors in this class.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L V6 typically returns a combined fuel economy of approximately 10.5L/100km, though expect closer to 12-13L/100km in heavy stop-start Dubai or Riyadh traffic. As a Nissan, it benefits from one of the most comprehensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. While American spec vehicles may depreciate slightly faster than GCC spec units locally, the Pathfinder generally retains around 50-55% of its value over a five-year period in this market.

Performance & Capability

The 284 hp V6 engine provides smooth, linear power that makes highway overtaking effortless even when the car is fully loaded with seven passengers. The Intelligent 4x4 system features a locking mode for extra traction, making it capable for light off-road excursions and sandy tracks during weekend escapes. With a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 8.2 seconds, it remains surprisingly agile for a mid-size family SUV.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for long-distance family comfort, the cabin features a tri-zone automatic climate control system with dedicated vents for all three rows to combat the extreme summer heat. The SL trim includes heated front and second-row seats, while the cabin is well-insulated to provide a quiet environment on the highway. Storage is abundant, featuring 459 litres of boot space even with the third row in use, expanding significantly when the rear seats are folded flat.

Safety

This SL trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Warning, which are vital for navigating busy highways. The 360-degree camera system provides a bird's-eye view that makes parking this large SUV in tight city spaces simple. Six airbags and a high-strength chassis contribute to its reputation as a safe choice for growing families.

The bottom line

This Pathfinder SL is the ideal choice for a family looking for a low-mileage, high-trim SUV that offers premium features and genuine towing power at a competitive price point.
