Summary

This Toyota Land Cruiser GXR is a standout find in the GCC market, combining the legendary reliability of the 4.0L V6 with remarkably low mileage for its age. Black is a highly desirable resale color in this region, ensuring this vehicle holds its value exceptionally well compared to rivals. As a mid-tier trim, it strikes the perfect balance between off-road utility and cabin comfort, making it ideal for both city commuting and desert adventures. The single most important consideration for a GCC buyer is the peace of mind offered by the most extensive service and parts network in the region.

This Car vs Other 2016 Land Cruisers

With only 64,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km per year. Its low mileage makes it a rare buying advantage, offering much more mechanical longevity than the typical 2016 model found on the market. The black exterior is a strong resale choice in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, further protecting your investment.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim provides a significant step up from the base EXR, adding features highly valued by GCC drivers such as a powered driver seat, front and rear parking sensors, and a more refined wood-grain interior finish. It also typically includes the 9-inch infotainment display and a rear-view camera, which are often absent or downgraded in entry-level specifications.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Nissan Patrol offer similar space, the Land Cruiser leads in long-distance range thanks to its massive 138-litre dual fuel tank, perfect for cross-border trips. Its body-on-frame construction is specifically engineered for the high-heat and harsh sand conditions of the GCC, where it maintains a reputation for durability that monocoque competitors cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 engine delivers a balanced fuel consumption of approximately 12.9 to 13.4 L/100km, which is efficient for a full-size SUV in stop-start city traffic. As a GCC-spec Toyota, it benefits from the highest resale value retention in the region, typically depreciating at a much slower rate than European luxury SUVs. Service intervals are a standard 10,000 km, supported by a vast network of authorized centers in every major city across the UAE and the wider GCC.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 271 hp V6 engine, this Land Cruiser is built for endurance rather than just speed, though it comfortably handles highway overtaking with 385 Nm of torque. It features a genuine low-range transfer case and advanced off-road hardware like Crawl Control, allowing it to navigate deep desert dunes with ease. The 225 mm ground clearance ensures you can clear obstacles that would stop most family crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seat configuration is designed for large families, featuring a powerful dual-zone air conditioning system specifically engineered to cool the large cabin quickly in 45°C+ summer heat. Dedicated rear AC vents ensure all three rows remain comfortable during long highway drives between emirates. The interior is focused on functional durability, utilizing high-quality materials that resist wear and sun damage.

Safety

Standard safety features include ABS with Brake Assist, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and a comprehensive airbag system protecting all three rows. For GCC highway driving, the vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Active Traction Control (A-TRAC), providing essential stability on both high-speed tarmac and shifting sand surfaces.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a low-mileage legend that is as capable in the Empty Quarter as it is on Sheikh Zayed Road, this GXR is a premier opportunity with unmatched resale security.
