Summary

This 2017 Bentley Bentayga Signature offers a powerful entry into the world of ultra-luxury SUVs with its flagship 12-cylinder powertrain. With mileage averaging just over 8,000 km per year, this vehicle has been used sparingly compared to the typical GCC annual average, preserving the integrity of its hand-finished interior. The brown exterior is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong resale appeal in a market often dominated by monochrome tones. As Bentley's first SUV, this model redefined the segment by blending genuine off-road capability with the refinement of a Mulsanne. For the GCC buyer, the combination of a massive 85-litre fuel tank and an advanced All-Wheel Drive system makes it the ultimate cross-border grand tourer.

This Car vs Other 2017 Bentaygas

At 74,405 km, this Bentayga sits well below the expected 180,000 km to 225,000 km range typically seen on 9-year-old vehicles in the GCC. This lower usage translates to less wear on the air suspension and cooling systems, which are critical for long-term reliability in the UAE heat. The rare brown finish provides a distinctive alternative to the common white and silver models while remaining a premium, high-resale color.

SIGNATURE vs Lower Trims

The Signature trim leverages the full potential of the 600 hp W12 engine, whereas later entry-level models often utilize smaller V8 or V6 hybrid units. This specific configuration includes high-value GCC essentials such as ventilated front seats, multi-zone climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen interface with navigation as standard. It also features the Breitling dashboard clock and deep-pile overmats that elevate it beyond the basic specifications of the era.

Bentayga vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Range Rover SVAutobiography offer similar dimensions, the Bentayga leads with a 301 km/h top speed, making it one of the fastest production SUVs of its time. Its 6.0L W12 engine provides a level of vibration-free torque that V8-powered competitors like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo cannot match. For long desert highway drives, the Bentayga's superior cabin insulation and high-speed stability set it apart as the more refined choice.

Running Costs & Resale

The W12 powertrain requires high-grade petrol and delivers roughly 12.8 L/100km on highway cycles, reflecting its grand-touring nature. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km or annually, with major maintenance including spark plug and coil pack inspections often required between 60,000 and 80,000 km. Bentley maintains a strong authorized service presence across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh, helping to mitigate the 12-15% annual depreciation typical for the luxury SUV segment in the GCC.

Performance & Capability

The 600 hp W12 engine produces 900 Nm of torque, enabling effortless overtaking even when fully loaded for a family road trip. The permanent All-Wheel Drive system features four on-road modes and four optional off-road settings, allowing it to handle sand and gravel tracks as easily as it handles the E11 highway. Its air suspension can raise the vehicle for 233 mm of maximum ground clearance, ensuring it is as capable on weekend adventures as it is in the city.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat layout offers 484 litres of boot space, providing enough room for luggage on trips between emirates. The cabin is a showcase of British craftsmanship, featuring 15 separate pieces of hand-selected wood veneer and premium leather hides. Specifically for the GCC climate, the air conditioning system is engineered to maintain cabin temperatures even in 50°C heat, supported by acoustic glass that shields occupants from both heat and road noise.

Safety

Standard safety features include a 360-degree camera and parking sensors, which are essential for navigating large SUVs in tight urban environments. The Bentayga is equipped with a full suite of airbags and advanced traction control systems designed to maintain stability on both high-speed highways and shifting sand surfaces. Adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring provide added security during long-distance drives across the GCC.

The bottom line

This W12 Bentayga is an ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking the prestige of a hand-built 12-cylinder engine with lower-than-average mileage for its age.
