• 6-speed manual transmission standard

Summary

This 2017 Ford Mustang GT offers a rare and engaging driving experience in the GCC, pairing the legendary 5.0L Coyote V8 with a traditional 6-speed manual gearbox. With 145,000 km, the mileage is perfectly average for a seven-year-old vehicle in the region, suggesting it has been used for the consistent highway commutes it was built to handle. Finished in White, it occupies the most desirable resale color bracket in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring better value retention than more niche shades. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a cooling system optimized for our extreme summer temperatures, making it a far more reliable long-term prospect than imported equivalents. For the enthusiast buyer, this represents the sweet spot of modern reliability and classic muscle car mechanical involvement.

This Car vs Other 2017 Mustangs

With approximately 20,700 km driven per year, this Mustang sits comfortably within the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km, indicating regular maintenance and typical highway usage rather than sitting idle. The White exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, offering superior heat reflection and maintaining a higher resale premium compared to brighter performance colors. Unlike many American-spec imports found locally, this GCC-spec unit is fully compatible with regional Ford authorized service centers for easier maintenance.

GT vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the GT trim replaces the V6 or EcoBoost engines with the iconic 5.0L V8, delivering a significant jump to 435 hp and a signature exhaust note. The GT also adds essential performance hardware including larger 352mm front brake rotors with four-piston calipers and an engine oil cooler standard. Inside, the GT typically gains improved cabin materials and electronic Track Apps, providing real-time performance data to the driver.

Mustang vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Chevrolet Camaro SS or the Dodge Challenger R/T, the Mustang GT offers a more balanced chassis that excels on both the long desert highways and technical drives like Jebel Jais. Its 61-liter fuel tank is well-sized for inter-emirate travel, and the manual transmission provides a level of mechanical connection that is becoming increasingly rare among its peers. The Ford also benefits from a wider authorized service footprint across the UAE and Saudi Arabia compared to more boutique performance brands.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.0L V8 averages around 11–13 L/100km, which is efficient for a high-displacement engine during highway cruising, though GCC stop-start traffic will increase this figure. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km, with Ford's extensive regional network ensuring parts availability is high and maintenance costs remain predictable. The GT trim with a manual gearbox and GCC specifications traditionally experiences the slowest depreciation among modern Mustangs in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 435 hp V8 propels this coupe from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power for fast-moving UAE highways. The rear-wheel-drive layout and limited-slip differential offer classic muscle car dynamics, while selectable drive modes allow the driver to tune steering and throttle response for city or track environments. The 530 Nm of torque ensures immediate response, making it a capable grand tourer for long-distance trips across the border.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around the driver, featuring a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a clear, functional layout that prioritizes ease of use during spirited driving. GCC-optimized air conditioning ensures the interior stays cool even when ambient temperatures exceed 45°C, supported by rear-seat air channels. Despite its performance focus, the coupe offers 4-seat utility and enough boot space for a weekend getaway for two, making it surprisingly practical for a sports car.

Safety

The 2017 Mustang GT comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including AdvanceTrac with Electronic Stability Control and multiple airbags. For highway safety, it features Blind Spot Monitoring and a rearview camera to assist with visibility in multi-lane traffic. The heavy-duty braking system provides consistent stopping power, essential for managing high-speed GCC road conditions and sudden stops.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a GCC-spec, manual V8 Mustang in the region's best resale color, offering the perfect blend of reliability and raw performance.
