Summary

This 2017 Mazda CX-3 GT represents a high-spec entry into the subcompact crossover market, finished in a resale-friendly Grey that hides road dust exceptionally well in the GCC climate. As the top-tier GT trim, it balances Mazda’s renowned 'Jinba Ittai' driving dynamics with premium cabin materials like Lux Suede and leather that elevate it above more utilitarian rivals. With its 2.0L Skyactiv-G engine and all-wheel drive, it provides confident highway stability for cross-emirate commutes while remaining compact enough for tight urban parking in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. This specific listing is a strong choice for buyers seeking Japanese reliability and a sophisticated feature set without the depreciation curve of a newer model. The regional GCC specification ensures the air conditioning and cooling systems are optimized for the extreme summer heat typical of the Middle East.

This Car vs Other 2017 CX-3s

With just over 105,000 km, this CX-3 sits well below the typical GCC average for a seven-year-old vehicle, which often exceeds 150,000 km due to long-distance highway use. The Grey exterior is a highly sought-after neutral tone in the UAE market, ensuring better value retention than bolder colors. Its GCC-spec status is a critical advantage, ensuring full compatibility with local service centers and cooling requirements.

GT vs Lower Trims

The GT trim is a significant step up from the Sport and Touring models, adding premium essentials for the GCC driver such as LED headlights with an Adaptive Front-lighting System for better night visibility on unlit desert roads. It exclusively features the Active Driving Display (Head-Up Display), a power moonroof, and a Bose 7-speaker premium audio system. Inside, the GT replaces standard cloth with a more sophisticated leather and Lux Suede upholstery paired with automatic climate control.

CX-3 vs Segment Rivals

The CX-3 leads competitors like the Nissan Kicks and Ford EcoSport by offering a more premium, driver-focused interior and the added security of i-ACTIV All-Wheel Drive, which is rare in this subcompact class. While rivals may focus on raw cargo volume, the Mazda prioritizes material quality and chassis refinement, making it feel like a scaled-down luxury vehicle. Its 2.0L engine provides a more linear and responsive power delivery than the smaller turbocharged or naturally aspirated units found in many segment peers.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L Skyactiv engine is known for its efficiency, typically returning between 6.5L and 7.5L/100km depending on how much GCC stop-start traffic you encounter. Mazda enjoys a robust authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, keeping maintenance straightforward and parts readily available. In the local market, the CX-3 holds its value better than European subcompact crossovers, benefiting from Mazda's reputation for long-term mechanical durability.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with the 2.0L engine producing 146 hp, the CX-3 delivers a top speed of 190 km/h and can reach 100 km/h in approximately 8.3 seconds. The i-ACTIV AWD system constantly monitors road conditions to pre-emptively shift torque, providing excellent grip on sandy patches or during sudden rain showers. The selectable Sport Mode adjusts the 6-speed automatic transmission's shift points, making highway overtaking and merging onto fast-moving UAE roads effortless.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around the driver, featuring a digital tachometer and the intuitive Mazda Connect infotainment system with a 7-inch display. For the GCC summer, the automatic climate control system is highly effective at cooling the compact cabin quickly, while the acoustic glass helps insulate passengers from external road noise. Despite its small footprint, the interior uses high-quality soft-touch materials that maintain their integrity even under intense UV exposure.

Safety

This GT trim comes equipped with an extensive safety suite, including Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which are essential for navigating multi-lane highway traffic. It also features Smart City Brake Support for low-speed collision avoidance and a reinforced Skyactiv-Body designed to redirect impact energy away from the cabin. Standard stability and traction control systems ensure the car remains composed on the varied road surfaces found across the region.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec CX-3 GT is the ideal match for a professional or small family looking for a premium Japanese crossover that balances low running costs with a high-end feature list.
