Summary

This 2018 Lincoln Continental Premier is a compelling entry into the executive sedan market, offering a level of serene American luxury that rivals more expensive European counterparts. As an 8-year-old vehicle with 186,000 km, its mileage reflects a life of consistent highway use typical of the GCC region, where its naturally aspirated 3.7L V6 is prized for its long-term durability. The Black exterior remains one of the strongest resale colors in the local market, maintaining a sharp, professional presence that hides the car's age remarkably well. For a GCC buyer, this listing offers a sophisticated flagship experience with a mechanical simplicity that ensures more predictable maintenance costs compared to turbocharged rivals. It stands out by prioritizing passenger tranquility and ride quality, making it an ideal choice for comfortable commutes between emirates.

This Car vs Other 2018 Continentals

At 186,000 km, this Continental sits slightly above the average for an 8-year-old car in the UAE but within the expected range for luxury cruisers frequently driven between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This level of mileage is often a sign of a well-maintained highway vehicle rather than one subjected to the heat-soak and stop-start stress of inner-city traffic. The black-on-black color scheme is the most sought-after combination for this model in the GCC, ensuring it remains highly liquid in the used market.

PREMIER vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim for Lincoln's flagship, the Premier still offers a high baseline of equipment including the 10-speaker Lincoln Premium Audio system and the Sync 3 infotainment suite with Apple CarPlay. It includes adaptive HID headlamps and a rearview camera as standard, features that are essential for nighttime highway visibility and navigating tight urban parking in the region. Unlike lower-tier luxury sedans, the Premier trim retains the sophisticated adaptive suspension that gives the Continental its signature 'quiet luxury' ride.

Continental vs Segment Rivals

The Continental is frequently cross-shopped with the Lexus ES and Cadillac CT6. It leads the Lexus in pure cabin volume and 'presence,' offering a larger, more imposing footprint on the road that GCC buyers often prefer. Against the CT6, the Lincoln focuses more on isolation and smoothness, utilizing acoustic glass to create a significantly quieter interior during high-speed highway cruising.

Running Costs & Resale

The naturally aspirated 3.7L V6 is a robust engine that handles the extreme GCC summer heat without the complexity of turbochargers, leading to more straightforward servicing. While American spec vehicles generally depreciate faster than GCC spec equivalents in the UAE, the Continental's shared mechanical components with other Ford-group products ensure parts are readily available at competitive prices. Owners can expect standard service intervals to be well-supported by a wide network of independent specialists and major service centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Performance & Capability

The 3.7L V6 engine delivers a smooth 305 horsepower, providing effortless overtaking power on 140 km/h motorways. It achieves 0–100 km/h in approximately 6.3 seconds, which is remarkably brisk for a large executive sedan of this size. The automatic transmission is tuned for seamless shifts, prioritizing a relaxed driving experience over aggressive performance, making it perfectly suited for long-distance regional travel.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed as a sanctuary, featuring dual-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents to ensure all five passengers remain cool during the peak of summer. The 10-way power-adjustable heated front seats and simulated leather upholstery provide excellent support for extended drives. Lincoln's focus on 'Quiet Luxury' is evident in the extensive sound deadening, which keeps wind and road noise at a minimum even at highway speeds.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of this model, which earned a 5-star overall rating from the NHTSA. Standard features include front and rear parking sensors to assist in maneuvering this large sedan, along with a suite of airbags including a driver’s knee airbag. The inclusion of hill-start assist and a highly capable traction control system provides added confidence when driving on the varied road surfaces found across the GCC.

The bottom line

This Lincoln Continental is an excellent opportunity for a professional seeking a high-status flagship sedan that offers maximum comfort and a timeless aesthetic at a fraction of its original cost.
