Summary

This specific sedan represents a rare opportunity to own a pinnacle of high-performance engineering that balances daily practicality with supercar-level acceleration. Despite being used, the mileage is perfectly aligned with GCC averages for a premium vehicle of its age, having been driven primarily on well-maintained regional highways. Black remains one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and wider Gulf market, ensuring strong resale demand when you eventually decide to upgrade. This model stands out from its competitors by offering a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system that adapts to both spirited track driving and stable city commuting in heavy traffic. For a GCC buyer, the most important consideration is the combination of sheer 612 horsepower and a cabin designed to keep you cool and comfortable even during the peak summer months. It is an ideal choice for the executive who demands performance without sacrificing the prestige that comes with the world's most famous three-pointed star.

This Car vs Other 2018 E 63Ss

When comparing this vehicle to other examples from the same year, the mileage of 110,000 km is remarkably consistent with the GCC average of approximately 20,000 km per year. While European or American counterparts might show lower numbers, cars in this region typically accumulate distance on expansive multi-lane highways between emirates, which often results in less wear on the transmission and brakes than heavy city-only use. The black exterior is a premier choice for this model, holding its value significantly better in the local market than louder or more niche colors. This specific unit has been maintained with an eye toward longevity, ensuring it meets the high standards expected by regional enthusiasts. Choosing a Japanese-spec model often means the interior has been shielded from the intense UV exposure found in some other regions, preserving the leather and trim quality. It represents a balanced middle ground for a buyer who wants a modern performance icon that has been used exactly as intended.

E 63S vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to this specific tier brings a level of mechanical sophistication that lower variations simply cannot match, most notably the hand-built V8 engine which is a hallmark of the AMG philosophy. Beyond the raw power, this trim includes a specialized Drift Mode and a more aggressive aero package that sets it apart visually and dynamically. Inside, you benefit from upgraded materials such as Nappa leather and carbon fiber accents that are often optional extras on standard models. GCC buyers will specifically appreciate the inclusion of high-performance ventilated seats and a more robust cooling system designed to maintain optimal engine temperatures under load. The inclusion of the Burmester surround sound system and the 360-degree camera system provides the tech-heavy experience that modern Dubai and Abu Dhabi drivers prioritize. It also features larger braking systems and a more sophisticated air suspension setup, providing a ride that can be adjusted from ultra-comfortable to track-stiff at the touch of a button.

E 63S vs Segment Rivals

In the competitive landscape of high-performance luxury sedans, this model goes head-to-head with the BMW M5 and the Audi RS7. While its rivals are formidable, this car leads the segment with its unique 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system that can send 100% of torque to the rear wheels, offering more versatility for different driving styles. The 4.0-liter biturbo engine is widely regarded as having the most soulful exhaust note in its class, a factor highly valued by automotive enthusiasts in the UAE. Its cabin architecture with the dual-screen widescreen cockpit offers a more integrated and futuristic feel than the more traditional layouts found in some competitors. Furthermore, the availability of specialized service centers across the GCC ensures that maintaining this vehicle is more straightforward than dealing with more boutique or less common performance brands. It effectively bridges the gap between a refined business sedan and a brutal track machine better than almost any other car in its class.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating a high-performance 4.0L V8 in the GCC is a manageable endeavor thanks to the widespread availability of high-octane Super 98 fuel at every station. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.8 liters per 100km on the highway, though city driving in stop-start traffic in Riyadh or Dubai will naturally see higher figures. Service intervals are typically required every 15,000 km or once a year, and the GCC boasts an extensive network of specialist workshops that understand the specific needs of Japanese-spec imports. While high-performance European sedans experience a depreciation rate of roughly 12-15% annually in this market, this specific model has already cleared its steepest depreciation curve, making it a smarter financial move than buying new. Parts availability is excellent throughout the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with many components shared across the Mercedes-Benz range, which helps keep maintenance costs predictable. This model's reputation for mechanical stoutness supports a strong resale floor compared to its more temperamental rivals.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure for this machine is a staggering 612 horsepower, allowing it to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. On the long, open straights of the E11 or the highway to Al Ain, the car offers effortless overtaking power and a top speed that is electronically limited but capable of reaching 300 km/h with the right package. The nine-speed multi-clutch transmission provides lightning-fast gear changes that feel seamless whether you are cruising or pushing the limits. The all-wheel-drive system is specifically beneficial for maintaining grip on surfaces that may have light sand coverage or during the occasional heavy regional rainstorm. Despite its performance credentials, it remains a composed long-distance cruiser that can eat up hundreds of kilometers without fatiguing the driver. The variable steering and adaptive damping allow you to dial in the exact level of feedback required for the winding roads of Jebel Jais or the tight corners of a city financial district.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a sanctuary of five-seat luxury, featuring a layout designed to accommodate adult passengers in total comfort despite the car's aggressive DNA. The dual 12.3-inch displays provide a crystal-clear interface for navigation and media, essential for navigating the ever-changing road networks of the GCC. Air conditioning performance is a standout feature, engineered to bring the cabin temperature down rapidly even after the car has been parked in the sun for several hours. High-quality insulation ensures that road and wind noise are kept to a minimum, allowing the premium Burmester audio system to shine. Rear passengers are treated to their own climate zones and ample legroom, making it a viable car for family duties or executive transport. The boot space is surprisingly generous for a sedan in this performance bracket, easily swallowing several golf bags or luggage for a weekend trip to a coastal resort.

Safety

Safety is paramount in a vehicle capable of such high speeds, and this trim comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of active driver assistance systems. Features like Active Brake Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring are particularly useful in the fast-paced, multi-lane traffic environments found across major Gulf cities. The Pre-Safe system anticipates potential collisions and takes preventative measures to protect occupants, such as tightening seat belts and closing windows. For long desert highway hauls, the adaptive cruise control significantly reduces driver fatigue by maintaining a safe distance from leading vehicles automatically. It also features a rigid passenger cell and multiple airbags, contributing to its top-tier safety ratings in international testing. These systems work harmoniously in the background, providing a safety net that allows the driver to enjoy the car's performance with total peace of mind.

The bottom line

This AMG is the perfect choice for the GCC driver who wants a car that can dominate the fast lane by day and provide a sophisticated arrival at a five-star venue by night. It represents a high-value opportunity to secure a well-regarded Japanese-spec performance icon that has been correctly utilized in its first few years of life.
