Quite simply the Mk 7.5 Golf R is the best VW Golf yet, and more! This is one fun hot hatch. In fact, it can make you laugh out loud at times. The chassis is rock solid, grip is outstanding, and the ride is a near perfect balance of comfort and firmness. Steering is light around parking lots and such, weighing up nicely as speeds increase. There are not many a car that feels this planted both going straight down the road and pushing it through corners. It is one of those rare cars that the harder you push, the better and more rewarding it feels.

The formula changed a little from the previous Golf sticking to what has worked well, the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine up front, four-wheel drive, and a dual-clutch DSG 6-Speed gearbox. The looks are tastefully improved with the Spielberg 19” Alloy wheels alloy wheels, stretched intakes on a more aggressive front bumper and newly designed LED headlights.

The Golf R is an extremely easy car to drive super quick! It has got plenty traction, pace, grip, with extraordinarily little turbo lag when accelerating. The 2.0L turbo charged engine produces 280 BHP with the 6-speed DSG gearbox doing 0-100kms in only 5.5 seconds! It has got all the straight-line performance you could need, and a great soundtrack too!

On the inside of the MK7.5 R is where we see the most advanced changes, with bespoke touches on a new trim layout, virtual cockpit, high-res navigation system with larger touchscreen monitor making it a much more modern cabin to be in compared to the MK7.
