Summary

This 2019 Bentley Continental GT W12 represents the first year of the highly acclaimed third-generation redesign, offering a more athletic platform than its predecessor. With 54,000 km, the mileage is slightly above average for a UAE luxury coupe but remains well within the range of a meticulously maintained grand tourer. The W12 trim is the definitive choice for the GCC, offering the effortless torque required for high-speed highway cruising across the Emirates. While European specs mean a focus on refinement and build quality, buyers should note the specific service requirements for imported luxury vehicles in the local market. This model stands out for its unmatched blend of handcrafted luxury and supercar performance, making it a compelling buy for those seeking an iconic presence.

This Car vs Other 2019 Continental GTs

At 54,000 km, this Continental GT has been driven approximately 10,800 km annually, which is lower than the typical 20,000–25,000 km GCC average but consistent with the use profile of a high-end European import. While many 2019 models found locally are GCC spec, this European spec example may offer unique interior finishes and options not commonly seen in regional showrooms. Resale for unique colors is generally stable in the UAE, provided the car has a documented history.

W12 vs Lower Trims

Choosing the W12 over the V8 adds the legendary 6.0-litre engine and the sophisticated Bentley Dynamic Ride system as standard. This 48V active roll control system is essential for maintaining flat cornering without sacrificing the plush ride comfort expected during long drives. The W12 also features unique exterior cues including twin oval exhaust finishers and standard 21-inch alloy wheels that distinguish it from the quad-pipe V8 models.

Continental GT vs Segment Rivals

The Continental GT competes directly with the Aston Martin DB11 and the Ferrari Roma, leading the segment in daily-usable luxury and cabin refinement. Its 90-litre fuel tank provides superior range for cross-border trips compared to many Italian rivals. While rivals may offer more aggressive track performance, the Bentley remains the king of the high-speed commute, offering better heat insulation and a more substantial on-road feel.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the W12 averages around 13.0 L/100km on the highway, rising significantly in stop-start city traffic common in Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are recommended every 16,000 km or 12 months, with authorized Bentley centers located in major GCC cities to support European spec maintenance. European luxury coupes of this caliber typically see 12-18% annual depreciation in the local market, making the third-generation redesign a relatively stable asset compared to older generations.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this GT is the 626 hp W12 engine, delivering a massive 900 Nm of torque that makes highway overtaking effortless at any speed. This third-generation model uses an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission for lightning-fast shifts, a significant upgrade for performance-minded drivers. The active all-wheel-drive system ensures maximum traction on UAE highways, while the air suspension offers four height settings to handle varying road surfaces with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The four-seat cabin is a masterclass in craftsmanship, featuring acoustic glass that isolates occupants from the intense GCC road noise and heat. While European spec models prioritize interior materials, ensure that the seat ventilation and multi-zone climate control are used to maintain comfort during peak summer months. The industry-first rotating display remains a highlight, allowing for a minimalist wood-veneer dash or a high-resolution touchscreen at the touch of a button.

Safety

Standard safety features include a comprehensive ADAS suite with Night Vision, a Head-Up Display, and a 360° camera system essential for maneuvering the GT's wide footprint. The European spec often includes additional safety software and airbag configurations. Active safety systems like blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control are particularly useful for the fast-moving, multi-lane traffic found on the E11 and other major GCC arterial roads.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the prestige of a hand-built 12-cylinder engine and the modern technology of the third-gen redesign, this Continental GT offers a significant entry point into ultra-luxury grand touring.
