Summary

This GCC-spec 2019 Mercedes Benz G63 AMG represents the first year of the major redesign, offering significantly improved road handling and a wider, more luxurious cabin than its predecessor. Finished in classic Black, it carries the aesthetic that ensures strong resale value across the UAE and wider GCC markets. With its hand-built V8 delivering 585 hp, it balances high-performance highway cruising with the rugged durability of a body-on-frame SUV. For a vehicle at this 7-year mark, the mileage reflects consistent use typical for executive highway commutes between emirates. This listing is a prime opportunity to own the current-generation G-Wagon silhouette without the new-car depreciation curve.

This Car vs Other 2019 G63 AMGs

With 144,285 km over 7 years, this G63 has averaged roughly 20,600 km per year, which is well within the typical 20,000–25,000 km range for GCC-based luxury SUVs. The Black exterior remains one of the most sought-after colors in the local used market, ensuring it stays liquid for future resale. Being a GCC-spec model, it bypasses the warranty and part-compatibility issues often associated with imported American or European examples.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the G63 AMG variant, this trim adds the hand-built 4.0L Biturbo V8 engine and the AMG Speedshift 9G transmission, providing a massive performance jump over the G550. It features the signature side-exit exhausts, flared wheel arches, and the 12.3-inch digital cockpit as standard. Additionally, the Burmester surround-sound system and 360° camera package provide the high-tech interior experience GCC buyers prioritize.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 stands alone with its triple-locking differentials and low-range transfer case, offering genuine off-road hardware that rivals like the BMW X5 M or Range Rover Sport SVR cannot match. While the Lamborghini Urus offers slightly faster acceleration, the G-Wagon provides superior ground clearance and a more commanding driving position. Its 100-litre fuel tank is specifically advantageous for long-distance cross-border drives across the region.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 4.0L V8 is approximately 13.2 L/100km on a combined cycle, though GCC city traffic will see higher figures. The G-Class historically enjoys some of the best value retention of any luxury SUV in the Middle East, with annual depreciation typically lower than its European rivals. Authorized service centers are widely available in every major GCC city, from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to Riyadh and Muscat, ensuring parts and expert technicians are never out of reach.

Performance & Capability

The 585 hp output allows this 2.5-tonne SUV to reach 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on high-speed motorways. Its off-road prowess is anchored by a 700 mm wading depth and dedicated 'Sand', 'Trail', and 'Rock' modes that adjust the suspension for desert terrain. The independent front suspension introduced in this 2019 generation drastically improves daily steering precision compared to older solid-axle models.

Comfort & Cabin

The redesigned 2019 cabin is noticeably wider than previous years, offering more shoulder room and a vastly improved rear seat layout for family use. Powerful multi-zone climate control is standard, ensuring the cabin stays chilled even during peak GCC summer temperatures. The interior is insulated against external heat and road noise, creating a refined environment for long-distance highway cruising.

Safety

This trim includes a comprehensive safety suite featuring Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC for long highway drives and Blind Spot Monitoring, which is essential for multi-lane Dubai traffic. The 360° camera system and Active Parking Assist help navigate this boxy SUV in tight urban spaces. Standard stability control and heavy-duty AMG braking systems ensure the vehicle remains composed under both high-speed and off-road conditions.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking the iconic G-Wagon presence with modern road manners, this GCC-spec G63 is a mechanically sound and aesthetically timeless choice that holds its value better than almost anything else on the road.
