Highlights

• Hand-built engine
• Genuine off-road rated
• Lowest depreciation in class

Summary

This specific G63 AMG is a rare find in the GCC market, combining incredibly low mileage for its age with a highly desirable grey exterior that maintains strong resale value locally. While many SUVs in this category are used as daily commuters across the Emirates, this example has been driven significantly less than the regional average of 20,000 km per year, preserving its mechanical integrity and cabin condition. The 2019 model year represented a massive leap in refinement and technology, making it the benchmark for luxury off-roaders in the region. Its hand-assembled V8 power provides the necessary performance for fast-moving highway traffic in Dubai or Riyadh, while the iconic boxy silhouette remains a status symbol that transcends trends. This Japanese-spec vehicle offers a meticulous maintenance history often associated with its origin, ensuring it is a turn-key option for a collector or an enthusiast. Ownership of this vehicle means holding one of the most liquid assets in the premium used car market, as demand for well-maintained examples always outstrips supply in the Middle East.

This Car vs Other 2019 G63 AMGs

With just over 35,000 kilometers on the odometer, this vehicle has covered less than half the distance of a typical 2019 model in the GCC, where high-mileage highway commutes are standard. Most similar models on the market have surpassed the 80,000 km mark, making this low-mileage example a distinct outlier that offers better long-term mechanical reliability. The grey exterior is a strategic choice for the region; it hides the ubiquitous desert dust better than black while retaining a more premium and aggressive aesthetic than white, which is vital for maintaining its value at trade-in. Being a Japanese-spec import, it often benefits from having spent its early years in a milder climate before arriving in the GCC, potentially reducing the wear on rubber seals and plastic components often caused by the intense Middle Eastern sun. Buyers will find the interior leather and switchgear in notably better condition than high-use local examples. This specific combination of low usage and a high-demand color palette makes it a standout choice for those prioritizing vehicle longevity.

G63 AMG vs Lower Trims

Moving up to this flagship trim introduces the hand-assembled 4.0-liter Biturbo V8, a significant performance jump over the standard G500 seen on local roads. Beyond the sheer power, the AMG variant adds the essential wide-body styling and flared wheel arches that define the modern aesthetic of this model, a look that is highly coveted in the UAE's social and business hubs. Inside, the trim level includes the superior Burmester surround sound system and the upgraded IWC Schaffhausen analogue clock, providing a level of craftsmanship not found in entry-level models. Functionally, this trim features the AMG Ride Control suspension, allowing the driver to stiffen the chassis for high-speed highway stability or soften it for city comfort—a crucial feature for the varied road surfaces found across the GCC. The inclusion of the AMG performance exhaust system also provides the signature thunderous soundtrack that is a hallmark of premium ownership in the region. These additions aren't just cosmetic; they represent a fundamental upgrade in the driving dynamics and prestige of the vehicle.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Range Rover Autobiography or the Bentley Bentayga, this model leads with its unparalleled off-road heritage and mechanical robustness. While competitors focus primarily on on-road plushness, this SUV retains three independently locking differentials, making it the only luxury vehicle in its class capable of serious dune traversals or mountain climbs in the northern Emirates and Oman. Its upright glasshouse and high seating position offer superior visibility in heavy city traffic compared to the more curved silhouettes of its peers. The 100-liter fuel tank is one of the largest in the segment, providing a massive cruising range for cross-border trips between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Muscat without the need for frequent fuel stops. Furthermore, the cooling system is specifically engineered to handle high-performance driving in extreme heat, ensuring that engine temperatures remain stable even during the peak of the GCC summer. No other rival offers the same blend of military-grade durability and high-street luxury.

Running Costs & Resale

This vehicle requires 98-octane Super petrol to maintain the health of its high-compression, twin-turbocharged engine, which is readily available at all major stations across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Real-world fuel consumption typically hovers around 14-16 liters per 100km on the highway, though this can increase in stop-start city traffic in major metropolitan centers. Service intervals occur every 15,000 km or annually, and given the model's popularity, authorized service centers are exceptionally well-distributed across all major GCC cities, ensuring no shortage of expert care. In terms of resale, this model boasts one of the lowest depreciation rates of any luxury SUV in the Middle East, typically retaining up to 75-80% of its value after three years. Because it is a Japanese spec, buyers should ensure that the navigation and radio frequencies are updated for regional use, although mechanical parts are largely identical to GCC-spec versions, ensuring easy availability of spares. This high level of part commonality helps keep maintenance costs predictable and protects the long-term investment value.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this machine is its 585 horsepower V8 engine, which propels this heavy SUV from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, a feat that allows for effortless overtaking on the fast-paced E11 highway. The four-wheel-drive system is permanent, ensuring maximum traction on the slick, dust-covered asphalt often found in the region after a sandstorm. With 850 Nm of torque available from low in the rev range, it provides incredible towing capacity and the ability to power through soft sand if venturing off the beaten path. Ground clearance is a substantial 241 mm, allowing it to clear obstacles that would stop most other luxury crossovers in their tracks. The nine-speed automatic transmission is tuned for rapid shifts during spirited driving while remaining smooth and unobtrusive during evening cruises through downtown districts. Whether it is navigating the urban jungle or the actual desert, the mechanical capability is far beyond what most owners will ever require, providing a deep sense of confidence in all conditions.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is a sanctuary from the intense GCC heat, featuring a high-capacity climate control system that can bring the interior temperature down rapidly even after the car has been parked in the sun. The five-seat layout offers ample headroom for all passengers, making it a comfortable choice for family trips between cities. The widescreen cockpit display provides all necessary navigation and telemetry data in high definition, while the ambient lighting can be customized to suit the mood of an evening drive. The seat bolsters are active, automatically tightening during turns to provide extra support for the driver and front passenger. Cabin insulation is world-class, effectively sealing out the wind noise during high-speed highway cruising and the ambient sounds of busy city streets. Even with its rugged exterior, the interior environment is defined by soft-touch leathers and precision-engineered metal accents that reflect its premium positioning. Ample storage in the boot ensures that luggage for long weekend getaways to Salalah or AlUla is easily accommodated.

Safety

Safety is paramount, and this model comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems that are particularly useful on multi-lane GCC highways. Features such as active lane-keeping assist and blind-spot monitoring provide essential warnings in fast-moving traffic, while autonomous emergency braking can prevent collisions in busy urban environments. The 360-degree camera system is a necessity for maneuvering a vehicle of this size into tight parking spots in luxury mall garages. Adaptive cruise control makes long stretches of desert highway driving significantly less fatiguing by maintaining a safe distance from vehicles ahead. Additionally, the pre-safe system can prepare the cabin and occupants if it detects an impending collision, highlighting the vehicle’s commitment to passenger protection. Rigid body construction and a plethora of airbags ensure that the G63 remains one of the safest platforms on the road today.

The bottom line

For the buyer who demands a low-mileage legend with a proven track record of value retention, this Japanese-spec G63 is the ideal choice. It offers the perfect balance of prestige and performance, making it a smart acquisition for those who want the best of Benz's engineering in a color that suits the local lifestyle.
