Summary

This 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero represents the final era of a legendary off-road icon, offering a perfect blend of rugged durability and family utility. While many modern SUVs have switched to soft crossovers, the Pajero retains its heavy-duty suspension and dependable 3.0L V6 engine, making it a favorite for those who value longevity. As a GLS Midline trim in white, it sits in the most popular resale bracket in the GCC, ensuring it remains a liquid asset for its next owner. With its seven-seat configuration and robust air conditioning, it is purpose-built to handle the demands of a large family in the regional heat. For a buyer looking for a reliable, go-anywhere workhorse with a proven track record across the Emirates, this is a standout choice.

This Car vs Other 2019 Pajeros

At 170,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is consistent with the typical long-distance highway use seen in the GCC, where the average annual travel often hits 25,000 km. While higher than global averages, these engines are famous for reaching 300,000 km and beyond with routine care. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the regional used market, offering superior heat reflection and the strongest possible resale value.

GLS MIDLINE vs Lower Trims

The GLS Midline provides a significant step up from the base GLX by adding essential comfort and style features that GCC buyers prioritize. You get upgraded alloy wheels, front fog lamps, and a more refined interior with chrome accents and premium fabric or synthetic leather touches. Crucially, it includes rear parking sensors and a more versatile climate control system, making it much better suited for family duties than the entry-level work-spec variants.

Pajero vs Segment Rivals

The Pajero stands apart from rivals like the Toyota Fortuner or Nissan Pathfinder by offering a more substantial, wide-body feel and superior visibility. Its 88-litre fuel tank is one of the largest in its class, providing an excellent cruising range for long desert highway drives between cities. Unlike many newer competitors, its heavy-duty components and body-on-frame characteristics mean it handles rougher terrain with significantly more confidence.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.0L V6 is a model of simplicity, keeping maintenance costs low compared to complex turbocharged rivals. You can expect a real-world combined fuel consumption of roughly 13L/100km, though this varies based on city traffic and highway cruising. Mitsubishi's service network is one of the most established in the GCC, with authorized centers and affordable spare parts available in every major city from Dubai to Muscat. This model enjoys a very stable depreciation curve, typically retaining its value better than European luxury SUVs in the same price bracket.

Performance & Capability

The Pajero is defined by its 235 mm ground clearance and specialized four-wheel-drive system, which allows for seamless shifting between 2WD for efficiency and 4WD for traction. While the 187 hp engine is tuned for reliability over raw speed, it provides steady torque for towing and highway overtaking. Its approach and departure angles are among the best in the segment, making it a legitimate choice for weekend excursions into the dunes or rocky wadis.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Pajero offers a spacious 7-seat layout with a removable third row that folds flat to create a massive cargo area. The cabin is specifically engineered for the GCC climate, featuring a high-output air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents to keep all passengers cool during the peak of summer. The upright seating position provides a 'command view' of the road, which is highly valued for long-distance comfort and safety on multi-lane highways.

Safety

Standard safety features for this trim include an advanced Multi-mode Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) to maintain control on unpredictable surfaces. It is equipped with dual front airbags and a reinforced monocoque body with a built-in ladder frame for enhanced occupant protection. Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC) come standard, providing a vital safety net during fast highway driving or when navigating slippery sand and gravel.

The bottom line

This Pajero is the ideal match for a family or adventurer looking for a durable, GCC-standard 4x4 that won't break the bank at the service center. It’s a rare chance to own a modern classic that is as comfortable on a school run as it is on a cross-country road trip.
