Renault Duster PE Gulf specifications, second owner

Highlights

• 210 mm ground clearance
• 414 litres boot space
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2019 Renault Duster PE is a robust crossover that perfectly balances city practicality with genuine weekend utility. Its 90,000 km mileage is remarkably average for a five-year-old vehicle in the GCC, indicating consistent highway use rather than harsh stop-start city wear. Finished in white, it holds the strongest resale color advantage in the regional market, ensuring better value retention. Unlike many entry-level rivals, this Duster features a 2.0L engine paired with a capable All-Wheel Drive system, making it one of the most reliable workhorses for navigating both Dubai's urban landscape and regional gravel paths.

This Car vs Other 2019 Dusters

With 90,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits exactly within the expected 18,000–20,000 km per year average for the GCC market. Many 2019 models available locally often exceed 120,000 km due to long-distance commuting, giving this specific unit a mechanical edge. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the Gulf climate, as it reflects heat better than darker tones and remains the most liquid color for second-hand buyers.

PE vs Lower Trims

The PE trim with the 2.0L engine provides a significant power bump over the 1.6L base variants often found in the region. It specifically adds the All-Wheel Drive system and a more durable 4-speed automatic gearbox, moving it beyond a simple city commuter into a capable light off-roader. It also includes essential GCC features like rear AC vents and Bluetooth connectivity as standard.

Duster vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Nissan Kicks or Ford EcoSport, the Duster leads with its 210 mm ground clearance and rugged suspension geometry designed for emerging markets. Its boot capacity of 414 litres is highly competitive, offering more practical vertical loading space for family gear. While rivals focus on soft-touch plastics, the Duster prioritizes mechanical simplicity and heat-resistant cabin materials.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L powertrain averages approximately 6.9L/100km on the highway, making it an economical choice for inter-emirate travel. Renault maintains one of the most widespread authorized service footprints across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, keeping maintenance straightforward. Resale value for the Duster remains stable in the GCC, typically retaining 60-70% of its value after three years, outperforming many non-Japanese competitors.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with 135 hp and 195 Nm of torque, this AWD Duster offers a top speed of 178 km/h and steady highway cruising. The selectable drive modes (2WD, Auto, and Lock) allow drivers to optimize fuel efficiency for the daily commute or lock the torque for gravel tracks. Its independent rear suspension on the 4x4 model provides superior stability on uneven surfaces compared to the torsion-beam setups in FWD versions.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seater cabin is designed for durability in high temperatures, featuring hard-wearing fabric seats and a powerful air conditioning system proven to handle 45°C+ summers. Rear cooling vents ensure passenger comfort during long family trips across the desert. Tech features include keyless entry, a multi-information display, and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls for easy operation while driving.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include ABS with Emergency Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Hill Start Assist, which is particularly useful on inclined exits. It is equipped with front driver and passenger airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors. The robust B0 platform construction provides a stable safety cell, making it a dependable choice for families navigating fast GCC highways.

The bottom line

This Duster is an ideal opportunity for a first-time SUV buyer or a small family needing a reliable, AWD-capable vehicle with a clean GCC history and the best possible resale color.
