About the Renault Duster

Before the Duster hit the streets of the world it actually started its life as an Ice Racer before launching in 2009. No doubt a favourite car with those looking for a subcompact SUV that has enough ground clearance to veer off the road a little. Also known as the Dacia Duster in Europe, the small SUV may not appear super flashy, but you would be surprised what it can do.

In its first generation, the Renault Duster rides on an extended Tiida platform and has it’s own unique styling that appeals to a select group of individuals especially in the Dubicars office :D. Note, in select countries, this vehicle is known as the Dacia Duster.

Available in a selection of trims, PE serves as base models and is equipped with fabric seats, air conditioning, media inputs, CD player, Bluetooth, rear folding seats, powered accessories, keyless entry, 16-inch steel rims and black bumpers.

SE models include all of those mentioned above along with fog lamps, rear power windows, trip computer, colour matching bumpers and leather-wrapped steering wheel. Optional extras for this trim level include leather seats, chrome mirror caps, roof rails, tinted rear windows, side steps chrome exhaust tip and mud flaps.

In regards to safety, all models are equipped with ABS, Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) as well as two front airbags in most markets. Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Understeer Control (CSV) and Traction Control (ASR) are available in higher trims.

Front-wheel drive is standard with four-wheel drive being an optional extra. Four cylinder motors are available with a selection of displacements with the 2-litre one being the most popular in the UAE. 135 horsepower is controlled by either a six-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox.

In 2015, the Duster received an update most notably to the front end and inside, the French brand added new materials. A pickup version was als introduced in select markets most notably South America.
