Summary

This 2020 Audi Q5 45 TFSI strikes a perfect balance for the GCC market, offering the more powerful 252 hp engine variant that makes highway overtaking effortless. With a mileage of 76,372 km over 6 years, it has been driven approximately 12,700 km annually—significantly below the typical UAE average of 20,000 km, representing a well-preserved mechanical life. The black exterior is a perennial favorite in the region, ensuring strong demand and price stability when it comes time to resell. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for local conditions, featuring a cooling system and air conditioning units designed to handle 45°C+ summers without breaking a sweat. For a buyer seeking a refined European SUV that is easier to park than a Q7 but far more substantial than a Q3, this listing is a standout choice.

This Car vs Other 2020 Q5s

At 76,372 km, this Q5 has covered notably less distance than many of its 6-year-old counterparts in the GCC, where heavy commuting often pushes mileage toward the 120,000 km mark. This lower usage translates to less wear on the S-tronic dual-clutch transmission and suspension bushings, which are key inspection points for this model. The black-on-black color combination remains one of the most liquid configurations in the UAE used market, helping it retain value better than more niche colors.

45 TFSI vs Lower Trims

The 45 TFSI trim is the high-output choice, providing 252 hp compared to the entry-level 40 TFSI variants often found in the market. In the GCC, this extra power is vital for safely merging onto fast-moving 140 km/h highways. This specific trim often includes Audi’s Virtual Cockpit and the more advanced MMI Navigation Plus system, features that many base-spec cars lack but that local buyers expect as standard in a luxury crossover.

Q5 vs Segment Rivals

The Q5 is frequently cross-shopped with the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. It leads the segment in interior build quality, with a cabin that feels more vault-like and rattle-free even after years of exposure to intense heat. Its Quattro all-wheel-drive system is also more road-biased and intuitive for city driving than the more rugged systems found in rivals, offering superior stability during rare but sudden seasonal rainstorms.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 9.2 L/100km, though expect closer to 11 L/100km in heavy Dubai or Riyadh traffic where the AC is working at maximum capacity. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or 12 months, with major gearbox oil changes required at the 60,000 km mark—a milestone this car has already successfully cleared. Audi enjoys an extensive authorized service network via Al Nabooda and Ali & Sons, ensuring parts are always readily available across the Emirates.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers a snappy 0-100 km/h time of 6.3 seconds, providing the kind of mid-range torque that makes long drives between Abu Dhabi and Dubai feel effortless. With 370 Nm of torque available from just 1,600 rpm, the car feels responsive in stop-start traffic and composed at high cruising speeds. While not a desert basher, the 208 mm ground clearance is more than enough for gravel tracks and weekend trips to the wadis.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a masterclass in ergonomics, featuring 550 litres of cargo space that expands significantly with the rear seats folded. GCC-specific comfort is prioritized with a powerful tri-zone climate control system that ensures rear passengers stay cool even in the height of August. High-quality insulation keeps the cabin quiet, shielding occupants from both external heat and the road noise common on high-speed motorways.

Safety

Standard safety for this trim includes Audi Pre-Sense City, which can detect vehicles and pedestrians to initiate emergency braking. This is complemented by six airbags and a robust stability control system that is particularly effective on the sand-dusted road surfaces common in the region. The 5-star Euro NCAP rating provides peace of mind for family buyers prioritizing structural integrity.

The bottom line

This is the ideal upgrade for a professional or small family who wants German engineering and prestige without the high mileage typical of the GCC market. Its low-usage history and desirable color make it one of the most sensible luxury SUV purchases available today.
