Summary

This premium-grade SUV sits as a top-tier choice for families in the GCC, offering a level of luxury and technology that punches well above its weight class. Equipped with the highest-level interior appointments, it provides a sophisticated escape from the region's intense summer heat thanks to its superior climate control systems. While the mileage reflects a steady history of use, the robust mechanical nature of the 3.8L V6 ensures it remains highly capable for long-distance highway travel across the UAE and beyond. The choice of a black exterior offers a classic, authoritative presence that maintains strong resale appeal in the local market. For those seeking the utility of a full-size seven-seater combined with the refinement of Nappa leather and advanced safety tech, this specific listing represents a highly logical and comfortable investment. The American specification of this unit allows for a high level of standard equipment often missing in entry-level regional models, making it a standout value proposition for the discerning buyer.

This Car vs Other 2020 Palisades

With a mileage of just over 134,000 km, this vehicle has seen consistent use that aligns with the higher-than-average annual driving distances typical of the GCC, where 20,000 km to 25,000 km per year is the standard benchmark. Because many owners utilize these large SUVs for school runs and inter-city commutes between places like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, this mileage suggests a healthy life of active service without excessive idling. The black exterior is one of the most desirable colors in the UAE used car market, significantly aiding its long-term resale value compared to more niche or experimental paint options. Compared to other units from the same year, the high-tier trim level on this specific car ensures it remains more relevant and feature-rich than lower-mileage base models. The mechanical integrity of the 3.8L engine is well-documented, making this a reliable choice for someone who values a well-maintained, high-spec car over a stripped-down alternative. It offers a balanced profile for a buyer looking for immediate utility and premium comfort.

PREMIUM NAPPA vs Lower Trims

Selecting this top-tier trim provides a transformative experience compared to the standard configurations found in lower versions. The inclusion of quilted Nappa leather seating surfaces offers a level of tactile luxury usually reserved for much more expensive European rivals, which is particularly appreciated during long desert drives. You will also find ventilated front and second-row seats, a critical feature for maintaining comfort when temperatures exceed 45 degrees Celsius. Unlike the base trims, this version features a premium Harman Kardon surround sound system and a fully digital instrument cluster that modernization the cabin significantly. The second-row captain chairs not only improve passenger comfort but also create a much-needed 'walk-through' space to access the third row easily. Additionally, the expanded suite of cameras, including a 360-degree top-view monitor, makes parking this large SUV in tight mall garages or urban environments much simpler than in trims with only a basic rear-view camera.

Palisade vs Segment Rivals

In the highly competitive family SUV segment, this model regularly goes head-to-head with the Honda Pilot and the Ford Explorer. While rivals are competent, this model leads with a more upscale interior design language and a quieter cabin environment at highway speeds. The all-wheel-drive system is specifically tuned to handle varying surfaces, providing confidence when navigating sand-blown peripheral roads or occasional gravel tracks. It offers a generous third-row legroom that outclasses many of its competitors, making it a true seven-adult transporter rather than just a five-seater with extra emergency stools. The fuel tank capacity is generous, supporting the long-range needs of GCC residents who frequently travel across borders or between emirates without needing constant fuel stops. Furthermore, the integration of technology and user-interface design is often cited as more intuitive and faster-responding than the systems found in its Japanese and American counterparts.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.8L V6 engine is engineered for longevity and is perfectly compatible with the high-octane petrol readily available across all EPPCO, ADNOC, and Oman Oil stations. In real-world GCC conditions, you can expect efficient highway cruising when heading toward Al Ain or Fujairah, while city traffic consumption remains predictable for a vehicle of this size. Maintenance is straightforward, as the brand has one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are always accessible and competitively priced. While American spec vehicles do not carry the same local agency warranty as GCC spec units, the shared global platform means that mechanical parts are interchangeable and easily serviced at any reputable workshop. This model holds its value remarkably well within the crossover segment, typically experiencing a depreciation rate that is more favorable than its European luxury counterparts. After three years of ownership, the residual value remains strong due to the high demand for large, reliable family vehicles in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is a 3.8-liter V6 producing 325 horsepower, providing effortless acceleration for overtaking on the E11 highway. The 0-100 km/h performance is brisk for a seven-passenger vehicle, ensuring you are never left wanting for power when merging into fast-moving traffic. The All-Wheel Drive system provides an extra layer of stability during the rare but heavy regional rainstorms and allows for confident travel on unpaved surfaces during weekend escapes. With a substantial towing capacity, it is well-suited for those who need to transport jet skis or small trailers to the coast. The ground clearance is sufficient to clear most urban obstacles and manageable desert dunes, offering versatility for the adventurous family. Driving modes are easily selectable, allowing the driver to prioritize fuel efficiency during the daily commute or maximize traction when the terrain becomes challenging. This combination of a naturally aspirated engine and a smooth automatic transmission results in a refined driving experience that minimizes fatigue on long journeys.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed as a sanctuary from the outdoor elements, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system that can rapidly cool the entire interior even after it has been parked in the direct sun. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, ensuring that those in the second and third rows remain as comfortable as the driver. The seven-seat layout with captain chairs in the middle row provides an executive feel, giving passengers more personal space and better airflow throughout the cabin. Sound insulation is a highlight, with acoustic glass and extensive dampening materials used to keep the noise of wind and tires at bay during high-speed cruising. The dual-pane sunroof fills the cabin with light without compromising the effectiveness of the air conditioning, thanks to high-quality thermal tinting. Tech-wise, the large infotainment screen and wireless charging capabilities ensure all occupants stay connected and entertained, regardless of the distance. Every touchpoint, from the soft-touch dashboard to the premium door inserts, reinforces the high-line nature of the interior.

Safety

Safety is paramount in this high-trim SUV, which comes standard with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems that are often optional on other vehicles. The adaptive cruise control is a life-saver on long treks across the desert, automatically maintaining a safe distance from the car ahead and reducing driver stress. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts are incredibly useful in the fast-paced, multi-lane traffic environments of Riyadh or Dubai. The vehicle also features lane-keeping assist and forward-collision avoidance, which provide an essential safety net for the family. Multiple airbags and a reinforced chassis design have earned this model top safety honors globally, providing peace of mind to parents. High-beam assist and LED lighting ensure maximum visibility during night drives on unlit rural roads, while the electronic stability control keeps the vehicle planted even during sudden evasive maneuvers on sand-slicked tarmac.

The bottom line

For the family buyer who refuses to compromise on interior luxury and safety, this high-spec SUV offers an incredible feature set at a significant value compared to new models. It is the perfect companion for anyone seeking a reliable, high-tech, and comfortable long-distance cruiser that is ready for the unique demands of the GCC lifestyle.
