Summary

This 2020 Infiniti Q50 LUXE offers a refined entry into the executive sports sedan market, perfectly balanced for the GCC's high-speed highway culture. As a 6-year-old vehicle with 100,147 km, its mileage is exactly in line with expected regional usage of roughly 17,000 km per year, significantly lower than the GCC average of 25,000 km. The striking Blue exterior not only stands out from the common sea of white sedans but also holds stable resale value due to its premium brand association. Powered by the acclaimed VR30DDTT engine, it provides effortless overtaking power that many four-cylinder rivals simply cannot match. For a UAE buyer, this GCC-spec model ensures the cooling systems and interior materials are specifically engineered to withstand intense summer heat.

This Car vs Other 2020 Q50s

With just over 100,000 km on the odometer, this Q50 has been driven approximately 16,700 km annually, which is well below the typical 25,000 km average seen in the UAE. This lower-than-average usage often translates to less wear on high-stress components like the twin-turbo system and suspension. The Blue paintwork is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong secondary market demand in the Emirates compared to more niche colors.

LUXE vs Lower Trims

The LUXE trim provides a significant upgrade over the entry-level Pure, most notably adding the power-sliding tinted glass moonroof and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Inside, it replaces standard plastics with textured aluminum trim and adds the Homelink universal transceiver, features that define the executive feel GCC buyers expect. It also serves as the gateway to the Essential and ProAssist packages, often including upgraded navigation and parking sensors.

Q50 vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Lexus IS and BMW 3 Series often rely on smaller four-cylinder engines in their mid-range trims, the Q50 LUXE leads with a standard 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6. This provides superior smoothness and torque for the long-distance hauls between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Additionally, its 80-litre fuel tank is one of the largest in the segment, offering superior cruising range for cross-border GCC road trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0t powertrain averages around 10.0 L/100km, though this can rise to 12.5 L/100km in heavy stop-start city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. Maintenance is supported by an extensive authorized service network across all major GCC cities, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km. The Q50 enjoys a stable depreciation curve in the local market, typically retaining about 45–55% of its value after five years, performing better than many European executive sedans.

Performance & Capability

The standout feature is the 300 hp twin-turbo V6, capable of propelling the sedan from 0–100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds. This performance is delivered via a 7-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels, providing a classic sports sedan feel and excellent stability at a top speed of 240 km/h. Multiple drive modes allow the pilot to sharpen throttle response and steering weight for a more engaging experience on winding roads or high-speed bypasses.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 5-seat environment designed for premium comfort, featuring 8-way power-adjustable front seats and dual-zone automatic temperature control essential for the GCC climate. The LUXE trim includes the Infiniti InTouch dual-display system with an 8-inch upper and 7-inch lower screen, ensuring navigation and media are easily accessible. Acoustic glass and high-quality insulation keep the interior remarkably quiet, even when cruising at highway speeds against the region's desert winds.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with 6 airbags and a suite of active systems including Forward Emergency Braking and Predictive Forward Collision Warning. This trim often features the ProAssist suite, which adds Blind Spot Warning and Cross Traffic Alert, both of which are invaluable for navigating the fast-moving, multi-lane highways typical of the GCC. The chassis is built on the proven FM platform, providing high structural integrity that earned it top safety marks in international testing.

The bottom line

This Q50 LUXE is the ideal choice for a professional seeking a turbocharged V6 executive sedan that balances performance with proven GCC reliability. It represents a smart opportunity to own a well-maintained, lower-mileage Japanese luxury car at a point where its depreciation has stabilized.
