• 8.1 L/100km combined fuel consumption

Summary

This 2020 Range Rover Evoque SE bridges the gap between urban luxury and genuine off-road capability in a way few compact SUVs can. Its 1.5-litre turbocharged engine is tuned for efficiency, making it a practical choice for the daily crawl on the E11 while retaining the brand’s signature four-wheel-drive poise. As an American spec model with just over 91,000 km, it offers a high-feature interior at a competitive entry point for the local market. The red exterior provides a bold alternative to the sea of white and silver crossovers typically seen across the Emirates. For the buyer looking to enter the Range Rover family without the overhead of a full-sized SUV, this Evoque is a refined, tech-forward option.

This Car vs Other 2020 Range Rover Evoques

With 91,050 km, this vehicle sits slightly above the average annual mileage for a four-year-old car in the GCC, but its condition and modern SE trim features remain highly competitive. While American spec models often trade at a discount compared to GCC spec counterparts, they typically offer higher interior specifications for the same price. The vibrant red finish is a distinctive choice that stands out in Dubai traffic while maintaining reasonable resale demand among lifestyle-oriented buyers.

SE vs Lower Trims

The SE trim is a significant jump over the base S, adding 20-inch wheels and the sophisticated Touch Pro Duo system, which features twin 10-inch high-definition touchscreens. It also upgrades the safety suite with the Park Package, including a 360-degree parking aid and Clear Exit Monitor—essential for tight mall parking in Riyadh or Abu Dhabi. You also gain 14-way electric memory front seats and Premium LED headlights with Signature DRL.

Range Rover Evoque vs Segment Rivals

The Evoque leads the BMW X1 and Audi Q3 when it comes to off-road hardware, featuring a 600 mm wading depth and Land Rover's specialized Terrain Response 2 system. While rivals focus almost entirely on the road, the Evoque provides a higher 'Sports Command' driving position that offers better visibility in multi-lane highway traffic. Its cabin materials are often cited as more premium, utilizing textures and finishes borrowed directly from the larger Velar.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy for this 1.5L powertrain averages around 8.1 L/100km, which is efficient for the segment and helps offset the higher premium fuel costs in the region. As an American spec vehicle, buyers should ensure service compatibility at specialized local workshops, though parts availability remains excellent across the UAE due to the model's popularity. The Evoque maintains a stable depreciation curve, typically retaining about 50-55% of its value after five years in the GCC market.

Performance & Capability

Despite its compact size, the Evoque is a capable adventurer with a 30.6-degree departure angle and standard four-wheel drive. The 200 hp engine provides a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 8.5 seconds, offering sufficient punch for overtaking on the E311. Its Terrain Response 2 system automatically adjusts torque delivery for sand, grass, or gravel, making it a perfect companion for light weekend camping trips in the desert.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of digital minimalism, featuring the dual-screen Touch Pro Duo interface that controls everything from media to the dual-zone climate system. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, a vital feature for the long GCC summers, and the 591-litre boot provides ample space for family groceries or weekend bags. Acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from the heat and wind noise during high-speed highway cruising.

Safety

This Evoque SE comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, featuring Lane Keep Assist, Emergency Braking, and a Driver Condition Monitor. The included 360-degree parking aid and Rear Traffic Monitor provide extra confidence in busy urban environments. Standard stability control and rollover protection systems are specifically tuned to handle the variable surfaces often encountered in the region, from rain-slicked asphalt to loose sand.

The bottom line

This is an ideal opportunity for a style-conscious professional or small family seeking the prestige of a Range Rover with manageable running costs. The SE trim's tech upgrades make it feel significantly more modern than the base model, representing excellent value in the current used market.
