Summary

This 2020 Mitsubishi Pajero GLS Signature Edition is a standout choice in the GCC market, offering the range-topping 3.8L V6 engine and a mileage that is well within the expected range for its age. As a Signature Edition, it features premium upgrades like leather-stitched seating and a distinctive chrome body kit that significantly bolsters its resale appeal. The Pajero's rugged body-on-frame construction makes it a favorite for those balancing daily urban commutes in Dubai with weekend desert expeditions. Its reliability is backed by one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE and the wider GCC region. For a buyer seeking a proven seven-seat workhorse with a touch of executive trim, this listing represents a robust long-term investment.

This Car vs Other 2020 Pajeros

With 85,166 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven approximately 14,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. This lower-than-average usage for a six-year-old SUV makes it a highly attractive proposition for buyers prioritizing mechanical longevity. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the region, ensuring maximum heat reflection and a faster turnaround at resale compared to darker shades.

GLS H/L SIGNATURE EDI vs Lower Trims

The Signature Edition sits at the top of the Pajero hierarchy, adding a 12-speaker Rockford Fosgate premium audio system and a factory-fitted rear entertainment system, both of which are high-value features for GCC families. Unlike the base GLS or GLX trims, this model includes power-adjustable leather seats, a cool box in the center console for summer drinks, and a specialized chrome exterior package. It also benefits from the larger 3.8L engine, providing a necessary power boost for highway overtaking and heavy-sand driving that the smaller 3.0L units lack.

Pajero vs Segment Rivals

The Pajero leads its main rivals, like the Toyota Prado and Nissan Pathfinder, with its rally-proven Super Select II 4WD system, which allows for shifting between 2WD and 4WD at speeds up to 100 km/h. While rivals often transition to car-based platforms, the Pajero retains a rugged chassis that handles the extreme heat and terrain of the UAE with superior durability. Its 88-liter fuel tank is specifically geared for long-distance cruising across the Emirates without frequent refueling stops.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.8L V6 is a reliable naturally aspirated engine that runs efficiently on 95-octane petrol, with real-world combined consumption typically ranging between 13.5 and 15.5 L/100km. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km, and Mitsubishi’s massive service footprint in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures parts are always affordable and available. The Pajero remains one of the slowest-depreciating vehicles in the GCC, typically retaining a high percentage of its value due to its discontinued status and legendary reputation for reliability.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with 243 hp and 327 Nm of torque, the 3.8L MIVEC engine provides the steady power required for climbing dunes or maintaining speed on the E11 highway. The 235 mm ground clearance and specialized off-road modes, including a rear differential lock, make it a true desert-capable 4x4. The Super Select II system offers four distinct modes, including a low-range 4LLc setting that provides maximum crawling torque for technical off-road recovery or steep inclines.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful dual-zone automatic climate control system with dedicated rear-seat vents and controls to ensure all passengers stay cool in 45-degree heat. The Signature Edition adds a premium touch with leather-wrapped contact points and wood-grain trim, while the acoustic glass helps insulate the cabin from road noise. Practical features like the cooled center console box are indispensable for long drives between cities during the summer months.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite including Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC), which is essential for maintaining grip on loose gravel and sand. This trim comes standard with front, side, and curtain airbags, along with a rear-view camera and parking sensors to assist in tight urban parking. The reinforced RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body provides a rigid safety cell that is among the most proven in the mid-size SUV segment.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs a dependable 7-seater that is as comfortable at a mall valet as it is on a desert trail, this low-mileage Signature Edition is the definitive choice. Its combination of the 3.8L engine and high-tier equipment makes it a rare find in such well-preserved condition.
