Summary

This 2020 Nissan Patrol LE Platinum represents the high-water mark for naturally aspirated V8 power, delivering a refined yet muscular 400 hp experience perfect for GCC roads. As the top-tier trim, it features the 2020 facelift's dual-screen infotainment and enhanced driver aids, making it a modern executive cruiser. The Pearl White exterior is the region's most sought-after resale color, effectively balancing heat reflection with long-term market value. With its legendary 4WD system and high-capacity cooling, this Patrol is purpose-built to transition from high-speed highway commutes to desert weekends without hesitation. For a buyer seeking the ultimate blend of prestige and reliability in the Gulf, this V8 powerhouse is a definitive choice.

This Car vs Other 2020 Patrols

With 148,000 km, this vehicle sits at an average mileage for a GCC-based Patrol of this vintage, where highway distances between Emirates naturally accumulate faster than global averages. The White Pearl finish is a strategic advantage in the local market, consistently fetching higher resale prices and staying cooler during peak summer months. Unlike lower-mileage examples that carry a heavy premium, this listing offers the full Platinum experience at a more accessible entry point.

LE PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum trim significantly elevates the cabin experience with quilted premium leather and ventilated front seats, which are essential for the Gulf's 45°C+ summers. It moves beyond the Titanium trim by adding the 13-speaker Bose premium audio system, 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, and a comprehensive 360-degree Around View Monitor. Furthermore, this trim includes the full Intelligent Mobility suite, featuring adaptive cruise control and emergency braking that provides peace of mind on fast-moving UAE highways.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

While the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 remains its primary rival, the Patrol LE Platinum is widely regarded for superior interior refinement and on-road comfort thanks to its Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) system. It offers a larger 140-litre fuel tank compared to many American SUV competitors, ensuring a total range that covers the distance from Dubai to Salalah with fewer stops. Additionally, the 400 hp V8 provides a more responsive power-to-weight ratio for highway overtaking than the V6 alternatives in the segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 typically averages between 16 and 18 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, though the massive 140-litre tank ensures fewer visits to the pump. Nissan boasts one of the most comprehensive service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, keeping maintenance costs predictable and parts readily available. In the GCC market, the Patrol retains roughly 55-60% of its value after four years, performing exceptionally well due to its iconic status and mechanical durability.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 engine delivers smooth, linear power, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 6.6 seconds—impressive for a vehicle of this scale. Its body-on-frame construction and 273mm ground clearance make it a formidable desert performer, supported by selectable modes for Sand, Rock, and Snow. Whether you are towing 3,500 kg or navigating deep dunes, the low-range transfer case and locking rear differential provide the mechanical grip required for serious off-roading.

Comfort & Cabin

The eight-seat layout is configured for maximum family logistics, featuring a power-folding third row and tri-zone climate control with dedicated vents for every passenger. The 2020 update introduced the dual-touchscreen center console, which modernizes the cockpit and integrates Apple CarPlay for seamless connectivity. Acoustic glass and thick insulation ensure the cabin remains a quiet sanctuary, protecting occupants from both the desert heat and highway wind noise.

Safety

Standard safety on the LE Platinum includes a sophisticated ADAS suite tailored for the region's high-speed driving environment, featuring Blind Spot Warning and Lane Intervention. The 360-degree camera system is particularly useful for maneuvering this large SUV in tight city parking spaces. With six airbags and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, this trim offers a higher level of active protection than the base XE or SE models.

The bottom line

For the family that needs uncompromising V8 power and top-tier luxury, this GCC-spec LE Platinum is the most balanced way to own a regional icon without the new-car price tag.
